i'd like to think the rooms will look better in person. Wonder why the straps on the couch? They certainly won't 'hold up' after kids start to pick at them.

Taste is subjective. I enjoy when Vegas & Orlando hotels go with large, iconic kitchy décor but outside the rooms, in the public areas.

The rehab won't keep me from booking the RPR which is a lovely property. I likely will be more inclined to pay the typical extra $ to book the Portofino more often. Not a stretch to predict this rehab will be followed shortly by a redo to tone it down.

I find that large flower garish and rather off-putting, cannot look at it and not think of Audrey hovering over the bed.

btw, is that a tiki picture on the wall?

The straps are sewn into the couch. I guess it makes it look like a steam boat trunk. I looked up the manufacture of the sofa bed and they are expensive. It's the same manufacture as the sofa beds at CB.

As for the picture I guess that's what it is???

We got a refurbed room last week too, Tower 1 #1625. We just had a water view 2 queens, no suite. The bathroom had the shower/tub combo. The big purple flower isn't as ugly as the hallway carpet, which has the same big ugly flower but in orange with a grey geometric pattern. I should have taken a picture. I really liked the hotel, but the decor isn't as tropical/Polynesian as I would like. Neutral colors like grey and white just don't seem tropical to me. I missed Poly at WDW. I also wish it had double sinks, but I guess HRH and PBH have those, right?

Why were you charged for then minibar?

Only charges that would be incurred were if you had used anything from inside it.

You could have refused the key for it at check in too. Some people did this.

At first we were like :scared1:

but after the 2nd day everything was great in person. Just like you guys and a few others on here have called RPR our second home with many days per year. So change is kind of scary because we are all used to the good old RPR. But after being in the new room and looking at past pictures it is a nice improvement. It actually feels more upscale. I just hope they don't touch common areas as they are perfect.

We always refused the key then there is no question I ate or drank the 1000% profit food.

I would call the front desk and put in the request. You can also fax the hotel directly.

Wow! That is one big flower. I do hope the coffee machine can lift out, I would imagine a lot of spillage at that height.
