DLR DAS Kiosks?

I have read quite a few postings about the DAS at DLR and I'm pretty sure almost all said you go to kiosks around the parks to get your return time for the next ride.

However, I just read a posting on the Disney Parks Moms Panel that said:
"With the Disability Access Service Card, you will go to an attraction you wish to ride, see a Cast Member at the entrance to get a return time to enter the FASTPASS or alternate entrance if directed. The Cast Member will fill the information in on your DAS Card with your return time."

So which is the most current info? Go to a kiosk or the attraction for a return time?

Thank you!!

That's what I thought too. Odd since this was on the official Disney site. However, this was the question asked:
  • We are planning to bring my son who has ASD to Disneyland before his third birthday. How do we get a DAS pass if he doesn't have a valid park ticket?

There is no physical card at DL anymore, it is linked to the park tickets. You go to the kiosk, give the cm all the tickets and get a rt loaded onto it.

The question was posted on Disneys site on 3/20/15. Grrr, its so frustrating to find information.

Kiosks are used at DL and DCA in California. The WDW parks in Florida give DAS return times at the rude. Please check out the 2 Disability Access Service Card threads pinned near the top of this forum. Unfortunately, the Moms Panel does not always give accurate advice; I believe They include a disclaimer on that forum.

Enjoy your vacation!

Got it, thanks lanejudy! It's always hard to tell which info is accurate and I want to be able to explain how it works to my son before we get there :-)

We were there last month and I just wanted to add a few things. When you get your return time from the kiosk you must have the ticket of everyone who is going to ride. It is linked to the name and picture. So if you scan 3 tickets only those 3 people can ride. My hubby constantly was running off to the bathroom or to get a snack and had his ticket in his pocket.
Also, make sure when you return to the ride and hand over your tickets to be scan you clearly identify it is Disability Access to every Cast Member who scans them. We had this happen on Autopia where we got our return time from the kiosk and at the appropriate time we went to the ride. The first Cast Member sent us up to the second one who would scan our tickets. He scanned them, double checked the time, who was riding and then said "oh, we are not doing fast pass now."??? I double checked at the kiosk and she said we did it all correct and that we should only use the words Disability Access.

Also I think it is very important to note that you can get a return time for any attraction from either park. So if you are in Disneyland you can get a return time at your nearest kiosk in Disneyland for a ride in DCA. So for example we got a time in Disneyland for Radiator Springs Racers. We then ate dinner in Disneyland and then walked over to DCA.

how will he get in if he doesn't have a valid park ticket? Unless he's under three then you would have to find out what guest services can do once you are in the park.
First of all, that's not the OP's question, that's the question that was asked to the mom's panel. Second, the only quoted the second sentence. Th first sentence clearly states that the child in question is under 3 years old.

Sorry my bad I didn't notice the part about the three year old in the beginning. Also just something to note about the Mom's panel well they are an official part of Disney not everything they say is from Disney and they may sometimes give incorrect information. Just like when you phone any of the various numbers for Disney you are not always talking to someone who is at WDW. I know one time I called to speak to someone in transposition well I was at Disney World and they had to look up what I needed to know because they were just in a call centre.

I don't think anyone has ever claimed that knowledge or reading comprehension were qualifications for the moms panel.

Disney's Mom Panel frequently gives out bad information.

Information from the Moms panel should be taken the same way you take information from a forum what one person has happen to them may be different from what someone else has them happen to them. It's like with Mgic bands some pole have bad experiences with them others love them and think they are the best thing ever.
