How to get DVC Member cards at WDW?

I can't seem to find our our DVC member cards. I know we will need them during our trip mid-April and if I order replacements, they will most likely not arrive before we leave. Does anyone know when/where I can get them at WDW? What will I need to bring with me? How long will it take?

You can get replacement cards at a number of locations around WDW:
Preview Center @ SSR (front desk)

Stop the DVC Desk at any of the locations below:
  • AKV - Kidani Village
  • BLT
  • BWV
There may be other locations, but these are the few I'm aware of. Don't think you need anything other than a photo id.

Yeah my dad got his new card at SSR. And when we joined they printed us cards right there that day.

I disagree about BWV. We figured out late in our stay in June that I had misplaced my DVC card (I think I took it out getting a discount at Mousegear). When we figured it out I inquired at the BWV desk about getting another one. She said we would have to go to the DVC preview center at SSR. We were leaving the next day and only using Disney transport so I just called when I got home.

Did they close the DVC sales office in the community hall building? That is who makes the IDs.

It was late...I don't know if community hall would have even been open but the girl at the desk did not suggest it. She just said we'd have to go to SSR.

The DVC office is at the North end of the Community Hall building with it's own entrance. It isn't inside the Community Hall. Why DVC doesn't advertise these locations with their hours is just another weird DVC issue.

We leave a week from today and just received our membership number last week. Would I be able to get membership cards at SSR as well...even though we havent received our packet yet? Just want to get the discounts and DVC trading pins :disrocks:

Since you have your membership number, I can't think a reason why you couldn't get a member id card while at WDW.

DVC Trading pins? What am I missing out on?

Just checked with someone that works for DVC sales that I know & BLT no longer has a DVC sales office, and VGF's sales office just closed as well so new member ID cards are NOT available there.

DVC Members may get new ID cards if they have a photo ID on their person at time of request, and can't get them for anyone else on the membership. All sales center hours are from around 8:30am to 4:00pm. Current sales centers that can print member ID cards:

Saratoga Springs Preview Center
Boardwalk Sales Office (location well described by Disneynutz, Post #10)
Kidani Village
Villas at the Polynesian-office in the end of Moorea

Before traveling across property to one of these locations be SURE you have your photo ID and perhaps have someone call the sales office you are headed to to make sure their card printer is working. My source says that these machines are finicky and break down sometimes. No need to make a trip for nothing, right?

Just curious, maybe your friend knows, why does DVD/DVC keep this info a secret, most of the CM's don't even know where the remote sales offices are and mingles and events are barely advertised.

It's almost like they don't want to make a sale or have member interaction.

DVC's best kept secret maybe? I'll ask 'em and get back with you. I don't know that there will be an answer but who knows? Maybe it really IS DVC's little secret….

Thanks for the info! Luckily our membership cards arrived in the mail the other day! We leave on Monday morning! Can not wait!:yay:

Your username cracks me up every time. I know (or I hope) it's supposed to be "Luv scrappin", but could easily be interpreted as "Luvs crappin".

Hi Disneynutz, took me a while to hear back from my DVC friends. They said it's no secret at all. They didn't know anything about marketing for member event as they are not in marketing. As for CM's not even knowing where the sales centers are, from what I understood resort CM's are pretty much in the dark as to where/what/how DVC works outside of resort issues. They said sometimes members are actually sent by the FD to the small sales centers nearby for issues that are entirely out of the scope of what those sales centers are able to do for members because apparently they (FD CM's) just don't know.

It seems to me that if a CM anywhere on property had a DVC member question that they would want to CALL first before sending some poor member across property for something they don't even know can happen for that member. It seems DVC could do a lot more to help the DVC resort CM's be more educated on how DVC works and what resources are available for them on property at WDW. But again, if I didn't know for sure, I think I would be calling FIRST before just sending some member/guest somewhere if I did not have good knowledge of whether that mbr/guest could be helped there. Who knows what goes through some CM's minds….. most seem to do a great job but once in a while they just seem to want to pass the buck in my observance as a longtime member…..
