We're checking in tomorrow & I'm so flippin' excited!!! We're celebrating my DS' first birthday in WDW this week & I couldn't be more relieved & happy that we've made it to this point! Before his actual birth, we didn't know that he had a cleft lip, cleft palate, or heart effect, despite a high-risk scan that didn't catch any of it. (I think the Big Man Upstairs maybe thought it was better if I didn't worry about that before Sweet Pea was born.) After two long surgeries in August 2014 & February 2015, my little dude is cleared for flying, ready to party, & long overdue for getting his first haircut in MK!! :) If you're checking in tomorrow, please excuse the lady with mascara-laced tears running down her face. I'm trying hard to hold back my tears of excitement & relief, but I can't make an promises at check-in, haha. ;) See y'all at the Fort!!

Let em' flow! You guys have earned it. I shed a tear or two myself on my first trip in 2009 when my daughter was 4 y/o. She was so excited and happy every single day we were there.

So sweet, Tiggerdad! I was never a crier before, but my little man's achievements & new experiences make me a little misty eyed. This trip was planned right before his first surgery because we knew it would be something positive to look forward to during his rough recoveries. Can't wait for tomorrow!!! I'm going to be too excited to sleep tonight!!!

Have fun, NOLA_Tink and please post the pictures so I can cry with you.

PS - enjoy the family time while you can. They sure do grow up fast...

Have a great time making memories and celebrating the victory. I think all of us have had a time when WDW made us teary eyed. Our first trip after adopting my son, standing along main street, watching Wishes with my arms around my DW and new DS. That's why we head to MK on our first night on every trip.

No point in even trying to hold the tears back, just wear waterproof mascara and go with it! And give your brave DS a big hug from me.

Both of my dd's had their first haircuts at Harmony Barber Shop, it's awesome! Enjoy!!

I am Jealous AND Happy for you. I am glad all went well with you son and the surgeries. Take lots of pictures so that when he is older, he can truly appreciate it and so you too have the memories to last a lifetime.

Have an awesome time. Avoid the mascara that way you don't have to worry about the tears (otherwise go with the water proof one.) Have an awesome time. My Next trip to WDW is not until June of 2016 and I am very excited about that. Hope the time comes quickly for me. (and slowly while there).

Awww! Y'all deserve a super nice vacation - have a wonderful time!

Have a great time. The one thing the DW and I regret is not taking our DS and DD when they were younger. Take lots of pics and especially videos to capture those special moments

Enjoy your trip and his 1st Birthday.:cake: The little ones are alot more resilient than we realize. Disney has a way of making you forget all your troubles.

Thanks for the well wishes and kind words!! We had a great arrival day! We've visited the Fort several times, but this is our first time actually staying here and we love it! The campers here really make it such a special place. :) I didn't have a chance to take any pics yesterday, but I'll try to take lots today. I also hope we run into a DISser or two.
P.S. I was able to contain the waterworks until Wishes, then there was no controlling them, haha. I didn't know if we'd be able to keep him up late enough, but he was utterly fascinated by the fireworks and the moment was perfect!

Lovin it so far...
It only gets better from here.
