April 2015 Car Rental Codes

I'm also noticing that prices are dropping again. I mostly search through Costco, so no additional codes or coupons. None of the rates has been enough to cause me to re-book because I think our current rate may have been a data entry error that was corrected within hours. Our biggest obstacle has been the lack of a Saturday night stay, which elimintes a lot of coupons. As much as I'd love to find a minivan, I can't complain about the current rate we have locked in.

How long will everybody continue to check their rates?

Hi folks,

Those of you using Costco codes in the last few days and noting that you are getting lower rates, can you indicate the exact codes you used? I tried ones earlier in this forum for Alamo and it says "this code no longer valid". I'd really appreciate you letting me know as the best I have so far is 400 bucks for a week with Dollar.

Okay - I think the Costco code doesn't work for me because I'm Canadian. Thanks for letting me know the code though!

I haven't searched the rental companies directly using the Costco code, but I did book directly on Costco's website. Warning: If you do that, you will need a membership name and number.

Dollar's Sunpass policy makes me not even want to try them

"$8.99 flat fee per rental day - $45.99 maximum weekly fee. "

"If not enrolled at time of reservation or at the rental counter, and user incurred toll charges by utilizing a dedicated or express lane, a $15.00 administrative fee + toll is assessed for each infraction to a maximum fee of $105.00. These fees and tolls are charged separately after the completion of the rental."

Reading a lot of horror stories about Dollar and Sunpass

I just booked a 9 day (April 3-12) standard car rental from Budget for $170 through Costco.

Car rental savers, they figure out the best codes to use. It is with Dollar. We started at over $500 before we got to the $217.

Yay - love this Car Rental Savers site - just got mine down 100 bucks today - first time I used the main website and got it down 50 bucks, than tried the Florida discount site and got another 50 cheaper. 378 for a week - SUV

I don't have a Costco membership so didn't use a code, but I just got a significant price drop just logging in with Alamo Insiders. $10 for a full size car, $20 for a midsize SUV. Granted, we are only doing a one-way, MCO-Port Canaveral 4/19-4/20, but I went from $80 Budget (though even today, I got it down to $40), to Alamo $16 (includes taxes/fees).

Looks like carrentalsavers.com can save me about $30 on my full size, one way,10 day rental but it would be with Alamo instead of National. I'm 99% sure I can get a suv from the exec aisle at National with my existing full size ressie so not worth it to change I think. Reserving a suv from Alamo would cost me $150 more than my current deal.

National prices have finally gone down (for April 4-11, at least). I couldn't get any of the coupons to work at MCO though ("capacity limit" or something like that).

I thought this was weird....We're flying in on a Friday night and staying in a hotel very near the airport (for just the first night). We were going to pick up a rental car on Saturday morning and just use the hotel courtesy shuttle on Friday night. But when I looked into picking up the car on Friday night it was nearly $40 CHEAPER. Overall, the reservation I made last night is $150 cheaper than what I booked about a month ago.

Just got compact for $155 for 4/19-4/25 on Costco site. Down from $182.

Keep checking those Alamo rates. My rate has dropped again for 4/9 thru 4/14. Currently have a Standard car for $122.86 using the Costco code & $30 coupon.

Try the Magic card code on Alamo, came out better than the Costco rate for my dates. 1 way 10 day rental 4/17-4/27, FLL to MCO, mid size SUV, $301

Now if I can find a coupon for Alamo... Anyone????

Keep checking, Costco Budget full size rental dropped again for us, we're down $70 in the last 4 days!
