Candy Cane Inn or Sheraton Park Hotel at Anaheim Resort?

Currently we are booked at the Sheraton, and I'm guessing it is a nicer hotel, but I'm wondering if being only a 5 min walk vs a 15 min walk from DL is worth having a slightly nice hotel? We have older kids so walking isn't a problem, but we will also have grandparents and I think the park is going to open very early while we are there. We are not looking for a luxury spot, but want it to be nice, clean, etc. The pool areas look comparable on trip advisor. Any thoughts?

I have never stayed at the sheraton, I love CCI, it is a close walk and they have their own dedicated shuttle. I think the CCI is a nice hotel and you get breakfast.

We love the Candy Cane. Beds are comfy, walk is easy, nice ON TIME shuttle, free parking, and nice breakfast.

Now I'm reading about the HoJo as well and wondering about that?????

You can see pics of CCI in the link in my sig. We love it there. Personally, we would never walk further than CCI from DLR. (Our kids are college age now so now small children) After walking all day, any further is just too long. We'd drive if we were further away. We did stay at Embassy Suites South and walked to DTD once on our off day. That would have been too much on a park day. We timed our walk from CCI to the security check as 8 min in the morning and 12 min returning in the evening. Plus, we also walk back for a nap in the afternoon.
I've never stayed at HoJos but heard good things about it. However, CCI has a nice free breakfast and a free shuttle which we just use to return to the parks after our nap.

I like CCI! It's about the same distance as HoJo, just in the opposite direction, but HoJo does not offer breakfast or a shuttle. For that reason, I'd go with CCI. The walk isn't bad, but sometimes at the end of a long day, or if you're carrying lots of bags, the shuttle option is great!

Stayed at the sheraton last week, it's the one that looks like a castle. Will never stay there again, after 7 visits. Stayed 3 nights, on the last night found a giant cockroach in our room, and their response was oh would you like someone to kill it? No apologies no refund, nothing. Nope nope nope, never again

We absolutely love HoJo, the rooms are great and it's only an 8-10 minute easy walk. Having said that we are about to stay at CCI as HoJo was booked solid when I tried to book a year ago. We are looking forward to the breakfast and the shuttle, but not to the smaller rooms!

The Sheraton you stayed at is leaving the Starwood family in the next month or so. It used to be a nice hotel but you are not the only one to report that it has been having issues recently.

The Sharaton the OP is considering is near the convention center. -- Suzanne
