2015 Make-the-Most-of-it March WISH challenge! All are welcome!

Pam, I am so sorry for being absent! I love your hosting! I just was away last weekend and then kind of fell into a hole afterwars. Am totally exhausted all the time... Lots of stress at work. I am trying to use the little energy I have for eating healthy and not becoming totally a couch-potatoe. I think it has to do with my allergies. Unfortunately the pills as well as the allergies make me tired. So, I only have the choice between tired and sneezing or only tired... At least today work had a good result and hopefully this will bring a little less stressful weeks in the future.

Hey all.... it's....
ThirstyThursday.jpg

WOWZA.... that is a HUGE graphic!! Anyhow.............. Let's talk melted ice, H2O, aqua, liquid gold............life-giving, can't-live-without-it, good old fashioned WATER!!

How do you take steps to be sure that you are staying at maximum hydration on a daily basis? Do you have a water schedule? A special water bottle? A tally sheet? Tell us all about it!

Off to work at the gym teacher.... probably no computer access until tonight. TTY then!..............P

I try to use the water tracking on the myfitnesspal app, but I forget a lot. It helps that I drink almost nothing else, but I still have my dehydrated days. I do better when I'm at work, but on days when I'm running around, I just don't think about it.

i'm a guzzler...LOL. I use my Contigo water bottle throughout the day and make sure I drink 3 of them. but I drink about 24 oz of water upon waking between taking meds and getting an electrolyte drink in me. Being without adrenal glands, I have to continually be aware of hydration and making sure I don't get dehydrated and throw my electrolytes off balance

I did sleep pretty good last night, going to try to get a WATP in this morning and see how I do on regular steroid dose today. I'm feeling sooooo puffy!

No worries, although I will admit your absence was noted and you were missed! Hopefully there is less stress in your near future!

I also do better at work.... probably because I have to plan ahead and bring my water bottle with me, so it is right there next to me. At home, of course, I can grab a glass of water any time I want, but I forget.... a lot!

You have lots of special reasons to need to keep up with healthy hydration! Glad you got a good night's sleep. I was going to pop in a WATP video when I got home, but I haven't done it yet.... I ended up making a pot of soup instead. Hope you feel better!

Evening all! Just a quick pop on to say hello and remind EVERYONE that tomorrow is another weigh-in day and our last FRIDAY weigh in for March!! Can you believe how FAST this month flew by~!!?? I cannot! Then we will be finishing up the March Challenge next Tuesday. You can count tomorrow's weight as you FINAL for March or do another one between then and Tuesday.... it totally up to you.

I'll BB in the morning!.......................P

Got the results from my blood work today with the result that I have extremely low vitamin D levels. This causes low energy and being exhausted. Yes, that sounds familiar... Getting pills now to boost my levels. Also slightly high thyroid levels which can cause slowing down weight loss. My doctor told me to eat more iodine and said that most likely it is related to the vitamin D levels. Now I need to buy some fish for the iodine!

Oh, dear. At least it seems like a (somewhat) easy fix, no? Hope you feel better soon!

LOL, I'm actually kind of doing this today... My DD and I went up to my parents cabin for a craft/relaxing weekend with some family (girls only)

Because I'm out of town, I'm going to be fairly MIA. I'll weigh in at the end of the month. CHEERS!

hey don't have much time for any kind of response but did read through the week. Going to the coast this weekend, went up to Portland to see a newly converted Albertsons to Haggens (yesterday)because Albertsons hasn't allowed Haggens to communicate much with us and i was curious--we need to know which stuff to cut down on and what stuff to keep ordering--had a great time and hit the goodwill outlet there also. Did have burgerville burger but just got the equivalent of a childs meal and actually lost a pound this week. It's before my period so I thought it would be impossible but found some slimquick on the reduced rack at work and I think that helped. I'm very excited about the new store!

Glad you got some answers.... and I actually am thinking that might be why I can't seem to get out of my own way recently. I was really good about taking my Vitamin D for a while, but have slacked off on it over the past year and with the bad weather and lack of sunshine, I am almost certainly deficient! Thanks for the health reminder.... I'll take some with dinner tonight and put it back in the line-up!

Fun, fun and SO envious of a mother/daughter weekend! Have FUN!!!

Congrats on being DOWN a pound!! And glad you got a chance to visit a new store!

Afternoon all! I have a few minutes while my students are at computer class, so I am popping in to say hello! Day is going by reasonably quickly, thank heavens!

I was going to stop by the library to borrow a movie for tomorrow, but I forgot they are closed on Fridays.... oh well. DS and I have a long drive on Sunday to Hartford to see his girlfriend at some sort of robotics competition (not FIRST like he is involved in.... not quite sure what this is). So tomorrow will be a combination of my laundry and housework day, my meal planning/meal prep day, and my relaxing day! :upsidedow

I've been experiencing some STRONG Disney withdrawals lately..... I spent time last night watching You Tube full-length ride video from Splash Mountain.... and was planning to watch Soarin' tonight. But I don't see a Disney trip in the future for me for a few years....:worried: oh well.

TTYL...................P

Magdalene -- sorry to hear about your vit D and thyroid being off, but glad you found out so you can bring those babies back in line! low vit D is very fatiguing, and hard to keep vit D up during the winter. are you taking the mega pills like 50,000 iu? those will bring it up fast! thyroid can be trickier, hope you doc gets it balanced quickly!

pixiegirl -- a crafting weekend sounds wonderful! in fact that is probably what I would do with a tank of gas and $300 is go to the Inspiration Inn that's about 2.5 hours away from me, a large house converted to a a B&B for crafters! it's so much fun there! we went last summer and have plans to go this July. and for those of you who have cruised on Disney and know what FE exchange is....well I was working on my FE project at our last crop and all the girls kept asking me about FE, what is was, why was I making so many mini-albums...etc. and they loved the idea and so our July crew of crafting gals are doing a "FE" exchange while we are at the Inn LOL... not sure what we will call it there though..

anyhoo.....

Pamela. :thanks: again for the incredible, fabulous coaching job you did this month! I just look back and WISH I would've done a better job re-committing when I got home from my vaca. I feel frumpy and bloated and not near as slim and sleek as before I went. I'm on my way out tonight, have a dinner in planned with a friend that is calories friendly, but there will be wine I'm sure. tomorrow she is taking me to try a boxing class...what the heck was I thinking? is this the new fitness trend? boxing? she said it will be a great workout. then I will weigh myself sun or mon for a reality check and kick my butt into APRIL to continue losing once again

great job on the loss 50sjayne!

Good morning all and welcome to your final SUPER SUNDAY!! As usual, this is the day when we plan for a SUPER SUCCESSFUL week ahead! What does the PERFECT START to a SUPER SUNDAY look like to you? Church with the family followed by a homecooked dinner? Sleeping in and a leisurely cup of coffee over the Sunday paper? Up and out the door for a workout as the sun rises? Share!................P

I'm out the door in 5 minutes or less to drive DS to Hartford to see the new girlfriend at her robotics tournament. Count this as reason number 9,824 why I am SO HAPPY to be at my goal weight.... meeting new people (well, honestly, this would be more like reason #2 of importance to me!). Meeting the girlfriend and her Mom today is already giving me heart palpitations because of my social anxiety.... but if I added being unhappy with the way I looked and uncomfortable about being overweight, and I can assure that today would have given me NIGHTMARES! But I'm wearing my favorite jeans that I know look good, a fun Disney scarf and I am CONFIDENT (well.... as confident as I can be anyhow!). TTYL.................P

Ok, my Super Sunday was not off to a great start... On my German Netflix they just got in the last year of How I Met Your Mother and I ended up watching quite a bit of it last evening and was in bed far too late. This was the night that we switched over to Summer Time, so we lost one hour the last night. I ended up sleeping in far far too late and the morning was virtually gone... I was planning to go for a morning run... Now the weather is ugly outside and I think I will go for my run before dinner (that is one of my favorite running times anyway) and now head into town to check out the Easter Market that is going on. I am also planning on sitting down with my cookbooks tonight to come up with some new recipes to try. Need to get back into meal planning.

At the moment I am not doing very well with eating nor with exercising. I really need to get my act together. The time change should help with going for a run in the evenings after work though. And the eating will improve if I manage the meal planning...

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Glad you got some answers.... and I actually am thinking that might be why I can't seem to get out of my own way recently. Thanks for the health reminder.... I'll take some with dinner tonight and put it back in the line-up!

I did some reading and there is some research that says that because of the angle of the sun, we here in Germany really have no chance to get enough vitamin D during the winter. Since you are pretty far north in the US, I think the same applies to you (Most of the US is far further south than most of Europe, I think New York and Rome are about on the same meridian).

I was actually thinking of you after I had discussed it with my doctor thinking that you are probably someone who has a very good knowledge about all these different substances in our bodies work and what they can do to you if they are not there (or are there in excess). No mega pills for me though! I have 1,000 iu. My experience is that German doctors are generally very conservative with aggressive things. You usually don't get antibiotics here unless the doctor has taken a culture to determine which kind of bacteria you have. Also, vitamin D supplementation is not done here in Germany in food at all. I guess there is some underlying general believe that nature knows best. Which in some cases I can understand, but in some I can't. We do have a serious measles outbreak in Berlin at the moment due too many kids not being vaccinated.

hey thanks for thinking of me :teeth: sorry it was at the doctors office after hearing your body is misbehaving. I have limited knowledge on thyroid issues, which I'm very fortunate in that I've had 75% of my pituitary gland removed (which controls your thyroid) and so far my thyroid is functioning normally. yeehaw. many of my fellow friends in my online community for disease support have thyroid issues, so I'm happy to help you figure it out if you need someone to bounce it off. on another note, maybe German thinking of leaving natural foods just as they are is spot-on. I think American food has gone too far additives. America is seeing far too many outbreaks too of kids not being vaccinated ;( Are you able to make purchases on amazon? I've bought the mega vitamin D on amazon, and take one a week to boost up my vitamin D levels. i'll never tell your doc :love2:

well here all weekend I've been thinking that I need to get the April challenge up b/c it's starts Monday. bahahaha. I have until Wed to procrastinate :hyper2:

super sunday -- I've logged into MFP today and though DH is talking of going out for a sammich for dinner, I may end up over calories. it is so dang cold outside, I'm not motivated to get my steps in. I am determined to get BACK ON THIS HERE DURN wagon this week though!

Saturday, my BF asked me to go with a crowd of girls from her gym to a Title Boxing class. it's a franchise I believe, anyone familiar? anyhow...it was a 75 total kick butt class. I couldn't keep up with the cardio drills, I had to modify to keep up and pace myself to make it through the entire class. the boxing portions have left the backs of my shoulders and rib muscles pretty sore today. a good sore, not miserable. we then finished the day with dessert at the cheesecake factory...sigh

Hello! I feel like the prodigal daughter returning. :) This move has been a bit more challenging than I thought it was going to be. I am coming clean--I have gained way too much weight and I am now within 15 pounds of my weight when I started the WISH challenges. Sigh. But I am getting back on track. I joined a Dietbet for April. It will be hard for me--4% for the month--but even if I only hit 75% I will be happy. I am looking forward to the April challenge and catching back up with everyone.

Morning friends! Welcome to your VERY LAST
Motivational Monday for March~~ !!

Today I am asking you to share some INSIGHT into what keeps you going on this journey. Why did you adopt a NEVER GIVE UP attitude with regards to weight loss/healthy lifestyle living? What spurs you on, keeps you moving, motivates you even when things aren't going in the right direction? Share a story, anecodote, situation, or just a motivational quote that always picks you up!

My story was shared, a bit, yesterday, when I talked about my social anxiety in meeting new people. While that has always been an issue for me.... I've always been shy, awkward, and lacking in self-confidence, being overweight certainly compounded those problems. Add to that having two kiddos that I didn't want to embarrass and I definitely had motivation to keep me looking good. While it is a bit easier to lose the weight for an occasion (upcoming wedding, vacation, reunion, etc), there will ALWAYS be something in life coming up ..... meeting new people, attending a new church, etc where having extra self-confidence will come in handy.... and getting to and maintaining my goal weight is what I need to give me that extra self-confidence!

Off to work, but I'll BBL to chat!...................P

YOU HAVE BEEN SORELY MISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy you are back! You can do this.... you know what to do. Can't wait to share a successful April with you!...............P

yay Rose&Mike you are back!!!!! confession is good for the spirit, but no judgment here....we are just happy for your return!

Pamela -- I love your motivation story, its really a great point. my confidence soars when I'm feeling good in my clothes, or wearing a smaller size...

for me motivation has been lacking...I'm trying to tap into how GREAT I felt just before I left for FL when my body was feeling good with eating healthy and getting in lots of activity. Further back, I try to tap into how awesome I felt when I was my leanest and strongest, how I loved to be included in the pictures, how proud I felt being hungry and not just mindlessly eating. I have two vaca coming up this summer and I am determined to be down another 10 lbs for those ---

back on the wagon for me today, hit the gym, did some dog grooming, and laundry. off to a good start for the week :teeth:

I am with Rose. I am coming back too. I may not do a weigh in this month. I just want to get back to eating right and starting to work out again. My eating for the last couple of weeks has been pretty good but I want to concentrate on being with a group that will encourage me and getting back into a fitness program.

This week is the one year anniversary of my dad's death and the 2 month anniversary of my father in law's death. But we are waiting to hear some news from ds2 and that is coming this week so we are excited about that. I will announce it when we know more.

See you a lot more in April.
