Is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter worth it if Iam staying on Disney Property?

Sure.

Universal is not that far away, especially if you have your own car. Otherwise you can get there using various forms of public transportation (cab, Mears shuttle, etc.)

One thing to keep in mind is that the WWOHP has two distinct elements: the original Hogsmeade area at Islands of Adventure that opened about 5 years ago, and the Diagon Alley area that opened at Universal Studios last summer. To see both areas (and ride the Hogwarts Express that connects them) you have to have a ticket that allows access to both parks. Right now that costs about $150 for one day and about $190 for two days (the last time I looked they threw in a third day for free).

My two adult daughters intend to do that one day on our trip next week; they will probably take the Mears shuttle to get there because we won't have a car.

For us we can't justify the 750-1000 ticket price just for a day or 2 for our family of 5.

ANY one day theme park ticket ( and that includes Disney parks) is expensive and rarely discounted .A one day /2 park ticket is not going to be cheap.We love Unviersal and think it is worth it , but we also stay onsite and spend more than one day there

I definitely prefer to keep our vacations either Disney or Universal. It makes so much more sense financially. I think if you have only a once-in-a-lifetime chance then it would probably be worth the one day ticket price to see it. However, if you can take a separate trip for Universal, then that provides you with more value. As the pp said, both Disney and Universal are cheaper the longer you stay. At Universal you can buy a Power Pass for not much more than a four day ticket. At Disney, a 10 day ticket is not much more than a 4 day ticket. And Universal discounts its hotel rates based on the number of nights you stay. Universal deluxe hotels are far cheaper than Disney Deluxe hotels. Why pay Disney hotel prices when you could stay cheaper at Universal (and a hotel you can walk to in just minutes from the parks, I might add)?
