Checking PackNPlay & stroller on Southwest

Is it correct that for a lap baby on Southwest you're allowed to check two baby items, which can be a stroller and Pack N Play? A SW phone agent told me that, but I want to be sure before arriving at the airport. Also, if we gate check the stroller, do we retrieve it while exiting the plane or do I need to place MExpress tags on it? Thanks!

Yes, a stroller and pack 'n play can both be checked for free. If you're gate checking the stroller you'll need to retrieve it on the jetway as you exit the cabin.

What hotel are you staying at? You might be able to get a PnP instead of bringing one.

OP, Southwest's official policy is that you may check a car seat and a stroller which will not count against your baggage allowance, not a Pack 'n Play.

Travel Equipment for Infants and Small Children. One stroller and one Child Restraint
Device (car seat) per fare-paying Passenger will be conditionally accepted as provided in
Section 7h without charge and will not count toward a Passenger’s free Checked Baggage allowance.

Be prepared to have the Pack 'n Pay take the place of one of your paying tickets free checked bags. So technically, you do check it for free, but it counts as one of your checked bags.

Good information already posted here, but I wanted to add to make sure you see the customer service counter at your gate to tag your stroller as a gate checked item. Otherwise they will make you leave your place in line to do so before boarding the plane. And as someone else had stated, you will fold up your stroller just before entering the plane itself, and when your flight is over, you will pick up your stroller in the very same spot on the landing right outside the plane. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for them to get all the checked items back to this area so don't panic if yours isn't there right away. Have a good flight!
