Guests for only part of visit

We always go to WDW for a week. It's usually just the 2 of us. Some time next year another couple would like to join us, but can't stay the whole week. How does the reservation work for something like that? We have APs, they will just get park hoppers for a couple days. No dining plan for any of us.

TIA!

I don't think you can add them to your reservation for only part of the visit. Hmmm...I'm curious to see if anyone knows if this can be done. You don't necessarily need them to be on reservation if you aren't doing dining plan.

So you have to put them on as if they would be there for the whole visit. If they are using Magical Express just give DVC their flight info and they will make sure that they can get on the bus.

We have had people on our reservation that were showing up different dates then we did. We just told the front desk and they held their keys till they checked in. We texted everyone the room number and we went on with our day(s). It was really no big deal at all.

DH and I are going end of May for 6 days. DD will be in the area and is going to drop grandkids off to stay with us one night. DH and I are on DDP and have ap linked to MDE. Want to get grandkids one day tickets, but can I link them to DE for fast Pass?

OP you have a couple of options:
Either put them on the reservation for the whole say.
Call the front desk on their day of arrival and have them added for the number of nights they will be there. The one problem with doing this is you will not get FPs for them 60 days ahead of time. Unless they buy ticket ahead of time, set-up there own MDE account, and then they can choose FPs one week before arrival.

Due to your being on the DDP, your grandkids will have to be on the DDP for the length of stay. Anyone on the reservation for even one night must be on a dining plan for the length of stay.

Not paying DDP for the week if they are not there! Guess we will just have to go early!

This has happened to me several times-DS frequently joins me for part of the trip, and other days I stay on solo. When I check in, the front desk always gives me his keys and when he gets there, he calls me from the airport to get the room # (one time I couldn't be there so he had to go to the front desk, show ID, and get the key). They've always encouraged me to put him on the reservation, otherwise he might have a problem accessing the pool and other resort amenities during his stay. Yes, he reserves DME for his dates without problem, even though they're not the dates of the room reservation.

We've added our dd and dgd for partial stays several times through ms. We don't ever do the ddp, but she uses dme (& we do not). it's never been a problem. In fact, we'll be doing it again in Sept.

My mother & niece came with us for 7 of 11 days last fall. I put them on the reservation as if they were staying the entire trip & signed up for DME as normal. Then I called DME at 407-934-3600 & adjusted the pick up dates to get them back to the airport earlier. It was all very easy.
