What are the best ways to find roommates? My DD is doing the fall 15 program and has no idea how to find roommates. She is having anxiety attacks that she will not find girls to room with. She is not big into parties, but likes to hang out go to the parks, the beach and do crafts.
Any help would be appreciated.

She can join one of the groups for fall on Facebook and post a roommate survey/look at others'. The program can assign roommates randomly as well.

She did join facebook groups and is finding the surveys. Is there any other sites to look at for roommates? She does not want to go random at all.

There are different facebook groups for each arrival date, make sure she joins the one for her specific arrival date as well as the general group for the Fall program.

Finding roommates in the groups can kind of be like a middle school dance... no one seems to want to make the first move. Tell her to not be afraid to message people that she thinks would be a good match. Don't just post a survey and wait for others to make the first move.

My daughter found all of her first three roommates on a Facebook group and it worked out very well. They all got along. They left the program after it was over but my daughter extended twice. They put you in a new apartment every time you extend. So for her last two apartments she lived with her best friend she met at work and then whoever they were randomly placed with. Again - no problems at all.

I am dissapointed to learn that while you do not need the same arrival date any longer you do need the same pre-registration time which only happens with the same arrival date. I think Disney should just say this clearly. she found three girls she wanted to roommate with only to find out now they cant since they are arriving a week before. they thought they could live together but are finding out now that they can not. So she is back to looking for roommates. She may just not go at all becuase of the anxiety it is causing. She is 100% against partying and does not want to live with people who party.

You can change you arrival date one time if there is availability open on the date she wants. Is it possible for her to change her arrival date to the same date as the 3 other girls so she could room with them?
Just a thought/suggestion?

The only way for them to move in thousands of DCP interns to their apartments is to dedicate each weeks arrivals moving in to the same apartments. In between each group they have to go in to the apartments and do maintenance, prepare them for the next group.

No matter what avenue she would take to find her roommates there would be no guarantee she's going to be happy with them. And just so you are aware, she may find 3 roommates and they put in for a 2 bedroom, 4 bed apartment but get there and be assigned with 2 bedroom, 6 bed (3 to a room) or even a larger 4 bedroom, 8 person if say housing fulfilled the requested complex but not the apartment size. That means even though she has 3 roommates picked she could end up with 2-4 strangers.

It is nerve wracking and I can understand her concerns. It's a big decision to make. DD initially went down to look at off-site apartments because she is picky about room mates but she decided the only way to fully appreciate the experience was to jump in with both feet. She loved it, extended, made good friends and it's been an incredible experience.

Just an FYI- for some CP programs arrivals occur on Mondays and Wednesdays. Also housing isn't just for CPs. Culinary program and international program people live there too and they are always arriving/departing.

disney was clear that pre-registration takes place about 10 days before an arrival date and only lasts 3 days. how anyone would think this would work arriving a week apart is beyond me. not sure that disney is at fault as much as it may not be reading everything clearly.

My DD was put off by the FB pages and that made her more anxious than going random so that's what she chose. She asked for an 8-person in hopes that she would like at least a few girls and it was great! She ended up with one random and 6 girls who linked up on FB. She became best friends with the other random and two of the 6. The others all found work friends and weren't super close either. She had a great experience!
