Family of 5 (me,wife,23,17 year old kids and 4 year old grandson) going for 3 nights in October booked @ royal pacific in club room with 335 sq ft. Stayed at both other hotels before and was looking for a change. APH rates are good till October 31st for our stay. For same money i can stay at Portofino club level 490 sq. ft. And last choice for 100.00 more can stay at Portofino Parlor suite @ 900 sq ft. But with no club access.
Any opinions ?? Or Suggestions.
I'm having a tough one with this.
Thanks :)

How is Portofino club level same money? Just curious. We love RPR but space is crucial with essentially four adults in the room, so I'd probably go the parlor suite route. It does say a rollaway would be an additional $25 per night, not sure if you're planning on that for the grandson?

Well the parlor suite is not gaining anything besides tha pullout couch and extra bathroom.

I would stay club at PBH for a happy medium.

I called for our October stay in August. This is before any rates were online. The price then is the same now for the Portofino club. I'm thinking a small cheap air mattress for my grandson.

Fyi- when i put in APH rate for October Portofino goes down while Hard Rock goes up... Strange.

I think this is key for four adults. Saves time in the morning, more room to spread out, etc.

But the the club deluxe room will have a large bathroom with 2 sinks and seperate shower and tub. This is fine if you are close family.

Maybe. But for 100 bucks, I'd still prefer the extra bathroom and extra space.

I just booked Portofino Bay club and kept royal pacific reservation also just in case Tower 3 is not renovated before October stay.
Family does not want to give up club.

Just had this booking HRH for August. I had to call back and ask them to adjust the rate to SMSM which was lower than APH; they didn't believe me at first, acted like it was "impossible" and had never happened before. Not sure if HRH is scaling back their APH rates or a glitch or what?

if you are staying for 7 nights, the smsm is 35% of a discount on the room rate.
the smsm is a greater savings over the ap at rpr for the dates i booked.

if you called the UO number i'm not surprised they told you they it was impossible to have the smsm rate cheaper than the ap rate.
if you call loews direct number, you would't have been told that it was impossible.
you get great, accurate info when you call loews instead of the UO booking site

Great info. I didn't even think to calm Loews.

Thanks, macraven, it's only five nights that we're staying. I called the number from my receipt: 1-888-464-3617, must have been UO!

the best rate discounts with smsm start at a 7 night stay.
you will still get a decent discount with it for a 5 night stay.

call loews direct and they will be able to guide you.

i'm in the program of Loews YouFirst and always ask to be transferred to the YouFirst desk.

you can join the Loews YouFirst program on their website. (it is free)
that way, you can work with the YF program when you call them.
that is my suggestion for getting correct and accurate info.
