October looking good...

Broke the news to the girls this evening about the booked trip. They were watching You Tube videos and somehow they ended up watching a 2014 Mickey's NSSHP video.
They were going back and forth about not being able to see the screen when I said, "It doesn't matter, you're going to get to see it in person anyway." My 3 y/o immediately said, "Yeah, we're going to get to see it in person anyway."

Long pause...

Then the 9 y/o caught on... "Squirrel chasing!" she said.
 
You know my wife told me about this post. I never seen it until tonight. Looks like we are on the same time for the vacation. I know last year, you came in about a day or so before we left. I never got a chance to swing on by and say hi. However I thought I could have run into at the pool on Saturday night. There was a guy there with his family and it was a gaggle of females as we thinking about leaving. This time we could probably chat it up for a bit talking about trucks and Disney.
 
See you there. I'll have the report in full swing and we'll figure out a time and place. There may be a few of us there at the same time. We could have a pool party. Maybe a group photo of feet propped up on TE porch.
 




As I posted up in my pre trip thread, we now must make plans for M&G for this. Pool? Trails End? Other? I told the DW to make sure the MG is planned in.
 
I say I'll bring plenty of charcoal. We just meet up, bring something to cook and see what happens.

I want a premium, but they are all booked. Have full booked now, but keep calling to check on any openings.

I agree with Snowmedic, we go day by day. Not planning to book anything this trip that will force us to a schedule. Always said we were gonna do this and planning on trying it this trip.

We gotta get a few more of us together...come on guys, you know you can take off work...

Count us in!! We'll be there 9/20 thru October 13th! The first week we'll also have our extended family there- 7 more to join the fun! Lots of kids- not so many adults! Hoping we'll get 2 premiums in the Big Bear Loop right across from the campfire/movie area.... Maybe we need a Sticky? :flower1:
 
Sounds great and I wish we could, but that is a busy work season for us. :sad2:
 
We plan on being at the Fort Oct 14 thru Oct 23rd, Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise! Maybe we will get a chance to say hi!
 
So when I called today to check on an available premium to upgrade to, the lady told me it was strange, that out of the 9 nights, only one didn't have a premium open, it was like the 15th, not even on the Columbus Day weekend. Strange.
 
Looks like I waited to long to reserve site. Didn't get preferred but did manage to get a Full for Oct.9 - 20. At least its not in the Poltergeist loop, (2000).
I have 27 days before I can do my ADR for Hoop Dee Doo, never been before so should be a good time from what I have read. Will probably bring bikes down to loop with. Walking last year was great exercise, but when the little one went with me on her scooter she got tired out and I ended up carrying her and the scooter back to the site. So, now to move onto figuring out what we left in the storage unit in Florida and what we brought back home with us last year.
I usually have a list, but I didn't do that last time before we headed home. :sad2:
 
Man, guess we coined that term "poltergeist loop". I seriously don't know how you did it, but definitely understand the change of locations.

If I can't upgrade to premium I can make it on full hookup. I'll just use my outdoor carpet to cover up the sandpad because I don't want it in the camper. If you stay on full hookup I'll see which ones are open and try to land one close.

I'm bringing the bikes too. Was gonna rent from Kenny, but the return run around caused me to miss a M&G with Rusty Scupper. We gonna try and cut out some planning and try to just wing it.

You'll enjoy HDR, done it both times at the Fort, but will probably skip this year. We'll for sure have to meet up again. This time the coffee is on me.

If you cant upgrade let me know, but at 6 months out I think you should be able to upgrade. Not sure how you drive down to the Fort, if you do it in a day or break it up into two days. I will be in Destin from the 4 - 9 and leaving out early on the 9 to head to the Fort. Never know, maybe we will meet up on the way down.
 
I will leave night of the 8th and drive straight through. I typically cross through that area in the middle of the night. Usually hit the Fort around 9am and nap til noon. I thought you would be coming in before me, but other way around it seems.
 
So I originally booked a full hook-up for this October trip because it was all that was available. Today I checked back and sure enough, a premium site has finally opened up. The price difference was only $100 for the 9 day stay, so we are upgrading to premium. Thinking I might request my old stomping ground in the 400 loop.
