Photo Package Question

My husband and I are going on a cruise in July with a friend and her son. Our reservations are linked so that we can eat together. However, we were both wondering if our pictures would be linked together so that we could split the cost of a photo package. Any one know/has done this? Thanks in advance!

The only way that you can split the cost of the photo package is if someone from the stateroom which paid for the package is in the photo. It will work for group photos, but if they want their own photos they will need to either pay for their own package or pick up a couple prints while on the ship.

You and your friend could always be spouses for the purpose of the photography service.
My wife and I are always in separate rooms (as we have 4 kids and need 2 rooms.) The photo service then links our photo package and we get the CD with both rooms included on it. Just need to buy the package in advance online, and stop by the photo desk on day one and explain how you and your spouse are in separate rooms.

The full cruise CD package is one CD per room. The only exception is where a nuclear family is split in two rooms (dad & kids in one, mom & kids in the second). In that case, they will put both rooms on one CD.

OP's party is not a nuclear family, even if they put the husband in one room and the wife in another.

As msidescooter said, whichever room purchases the CD, any photos taken with at least one person from the room that made the purchase in them will be included on the CD. Any photos taken of only people in the room that did not purchase the CD will not be included.

From the My Cruise Photos website:

INFORMATION ABOUT WHO CAN BE ON THE CDs (from the MyCruisePhotos.com website):
The following are benefits of your photo package (digital or print):
  • When purchasing any size digital photo package, you will take home all the photos seen on your kiosk account and can choose which photos to keep from home.
  • Photos of your children aged 21 and under, who may be traveling in a separate stateroom are included.
  • Artistic borders and templates as seen on all printed photos are included.
  • Digital photos are in a size and resolution that allow for printing up to 8X10.
  • “Unlimited” photos means all the photos in your photo kiosk account and/or all the photos prints that YOU collect while adhering to these terms.
The following is not included with your photo package (digital or print):
  • Photos of others in your party not staying in your stateroom.
  • Group photos, weddings, Quinces and other special occasion photography services.
  • Generic stock photos of the ship, characters, ports of call, etc.
  • Any special printing or retouching requests.
