I see from Cruisefish that at least one of the "sold out" categories has become available again and that several have has a price increase already this week. It must be that some people are telling their Travel Agents to release reservations because the price is too high.

That's exactly what is happening. We had our TA book us on opening day for Platinum cruisers but as soon as she got back to us with the price we said no.

I don't blame people for grabbing cabins at the lowest possible price and then changing their minds. Makes sense as it's I'm guessing it's impossible for TA's to contact all of their clients the moment new prices come out.

I know in our case that this was the first pricing for that cabin that our TA had gotten since this was very, very early on the first day that bookings were available for Platinum/Gold CC members.

If a Ta's going to spend 2 hours on hold of course they are going to put holds on everything you asked for a quote on. It's unfortunate Disney doesn't adjust the price back down when availability increases. Eventually the price goes up so much that people stop booking rooms, and then they discount the last 30% of rooms that haven't sold.

This exactly! I do wish there was a way for Disney to adjust the price back down when all the holds cancel.

I can understand why they don't do that. If they did, they would have guests who kept their reservations, but made them at a higher tier demanding a refund of the difference when the cost went down. I know this happens with the *GT rates, but those are offered late and have restrictions.

They could just not raise the price until they see how many of the holds are actually going to book. They could wait a week and let the dust settle.

DCL could just tell us the pries when they give us the itineraries like they use to and then as many people wouldn't book.

Now you've probably hit the nail on the head for why DCL stopped giving the price range. They wouldn't get nearly as many calls or holds if they did that with today's pricing.

Hello,
I just booked this cruise. We are very excited. We are platinum as of this cruise and we have never been to any of these ports before.
Is there a fish extender that I can join? I would love to participate.
Thanks
Tammie, Randy and Amy
