Road construction around Downtown Disney

Could anyone provide details about where the construction is and where the traffic backups occur? Does this affect getting to and from Saratoga Springs? I am thinking there is an alternate route to SSR, but It may also be busy as I believe Disney busses have been using this road to get to DTD lately? Thanks!

If you're staying west of DTD (which by your signature appears to be a possibility based on where you typically stay) then you don't need to pass DTD to get to SSR. Simply head east from the Epcot resort area on Buena Vista Blvd. and just after you pass Epcot Center Drive (the road which provides access to I-4) turn left at the light onto Bonnet Creek Parkway and follow the signs to SSR.

The traffic along Buena Vista Drive heading to DTD will be very slow. How bad will depend on what time of day you go and where you are coming from.

If your concern is getting to SSR, there are several alternatives you can take to avoid that stretch - again depending on where you are coming from.

Visiting for a couple of days in August and considering a stay at SSR. It is a very nice walk from there over to DTD. But, we will have a car and may want to drive to AK or the Boardwalk and I had heard that traffic was bad along
Buena Vista Dr.

Thanks for the info!

In the situation you describe, I won't worry about the DTD traffic as you will be able to avoid it when driving around WDW. :car:

I am staying at a time share called Cypress Point (across from the Walgreens near DTD). I will essentially have to drive by DTD every morning on the way to our park of the day. Am I correct in thinking DTD traffic/congestion should not be a problem that early in the morning (we are going 4th of July and on that Saturday for example the park opens at 8 and we are hoping to make RD)?

At that time of morning you shouldn't have a problem with traffic at DTD.

Thank-you! Really the only day of huge importance is that 4th of July which of course is the first morning after our arrival so I won't have any time to do any trial runs or scope out what is happening. Trying to take everything I can into account so we actually do make it to RD (we are traveling with another family but they are staying on property so the planning has been a bit tricky).
