Wine and Dine 2015

I just want to give a HUGE shout-out to @Michigan Belle. She PM'd me yesterday that there was charity registration available through Pitching In For Kids. Thanks to her, I'm going to Wine and Dine!!!! I'm so freaking excited. Now I just need to wait until April when they get everyone's fundraising pages up.

I need to get my butt in gear with training. I've done the Princess and the DL, but I'll admit I was pretty lax on training. I did the DL half with 2 feet aching of plantar fascitis, and a freshly broken toe. Here's a pro tip: don't do that.:rotfl2: My feet hurt so freaking much. I ended up not even going to the park that day. I ordered room service and used my desk chair like a wheelchair to get myself to the bathroom.:rotfl:

Glad to help! It looks like Pitching in For Kids still has registrations available if anyone is still looking. And thanks to this board, I was able to help the person who gave me the tip by letting her know that she could register for the after party. We are going to put off the Wine and Dine until 2016, but I'm going to keep following this board so that I am as prepared as possible for registration day!
Good luck with your training @ban26ana and the rest of you! Now that I have over a year to train, maybe I will join DH next year :)

All this drinking around the world talk has made me so excited for my first trip to Epcot... it sounds like there are a lot of options for delicious adult beverages. Does anyone have any specific favorites I should check out?

For what it's worth, we're a bit beer snobby ( :drinking1love the random microbrews and trying something new!) but also can appreciate a fruity mixed cocktail.

I'm a big fan of the Grey Goose and Grand Marnier slushes in France! YUM! There is also a Sparkling Red wine at the wine shop at the front of Italy that is a must for me every trip now. I'm not a beer person but DH is, so he will be happy to join in the beer drinking fun. Someone mentioned untapped app, DH loves his.

That was me! My husband is obsessed with Untapped - so much so that sometimes it drives me nuts!

This was on runDisney Twitter page. Says Tink Half shirts now available on the runDisney page.

@ChicoChico
I think he will enjoy the grapefruit beer at W&D.

I will be the first to shout out that I do NOT like Beer. I'm a hard alcohol kind of guy. But being a good sport, I decided to try the beer flight at Beirgarten on our last trip in January. Thinking that maybe there is one that I could possible appreciate. I actually really enjoyed the grapefruit beer. Tasty, refreshing, kind of an alcoholic version of a fresca or squirt. It was nice. I will probably be trying it again for F&W.

Avocado Margarita from La Cava de Tequila and Schofferhoffer Grapefruit Beer from Germany pavilion are my two favorites. I can't tolerate a lot of super-sweet mixed drinks (my preference runs toward a Manhattan) but these two are perfect. I got so excited the other day because I was in our local beer store and they have the grapefruit beer, so I can enjoy that year round!

Unibrou's LA Fin Du Monde at the Canadian pavilion is a must try if you like darker beers. Tried this last trip and it was really good. The margaritas at la cava are really good! Wow really liked the marnier slushy from France. Lots of different things to try.

Been running intervals the last two weeks for 5 miles. Decided to run straight through for 5k today and not happy with my time. I know it's my first straight run since November but I am running a 5k in 2 weeks and not feeling ready. My PB for 5k is 27:22 which I ran last October, today was at 30:39. Time for some healthier eating and hard work for the next 10 days.

The Food and wine fest is for you then! You will find sample sizes of craft brews at almost every stand (some will offer something more common and some full sized options or flights). As for mixed drinks, assuming both of these return, the Singapore sling (singapore stand) and the happy leche (china). Neither is for the weak, though. Fair warning!!

As for options from Epcot's more permanent stands, the grapefruit beer in Germany as others mentioned, as well as the passion fruit margarita from la cava (inside the Mexico pavilion there is a bar and drink ordering window).

So excited! I did 6 miles today at a 14.67 mm! This was my first long run, to get ready for my 10K next weekend. Last weekend I did 4 miles at just under 16:00 mm so I really amped up my pace today to try and do better and it worked! :dogdance:

That's amazing! Breakthrough alert!
