Activities later in afternoon

Coming to FW this weekend with DD and one of her friends, tent camping. We'll be there after the girls get out of school, probably won't get to FW till 3-ish. I was thinking we could do some of the activities like archery, horseback riding, etc, but I'm realizing we probably would be getting there too late. We're going to parks Saturday and Sunday, so we won't be able to do them then. I know about the evening activities like campfire, movies, etc - are going to be any activities we can do in the late afternoon? In all likelihood, we'll just get there, get the site set-up, get dinner started then go run around the resort, but if there's an activity I can treat the girls to, I'd love to do that. :)

Also, when you rent a golf cart, is it per night, or per day? If I pick up on Friday and bring it back Sunday morning, is that $59 x 2 or $59 x 3?

Thanks!

Phoenix,

In your check-in materials should be a sheet like this that lists the Poolside activities which might be of interest to the kids. This is from December 2014 as an example.

Here is the other page with the for-a-fee activities.

Also carts are technically rented starting 1pm (same as earliest official check-in time) to 11am (same as latest official check-out time) so a weekend is basically a 2 day rental. For other folks reading, if you check in early you can usually get it early (don't have to wait unless they are literally out of carts).

Have fun ya'll.

PS - maybe you can stay late on Sunday afternoon (park in the front lot after checkout) and do the tie-dye shirt if it is offered then. I did it once (I'm just a big kid) and it was neat. My DD has made that shirt her own. You sign up at the Bike Barn in advance (they have plain white t-shirts for sale or BYO as I had to - no 2XL in their supply). If you BYO shirt, the fee is less. For ink-only fee it was between $15-20 IIRC. I made Mickey Heads on my tie-dye.

Thanks so much, Bama Ed; you're a walking treasure trove of info! :)

Do you (or anyone!) know if the archery is truly all ages, or more for younger kids? My daughter and her friend are 18 and 17.

Phoenix,

Archery is for all ages. I walked past a session once and took this picture. Looks like youngs AND olds.

BTW here was my tie dye in the making.

Ugly ain't it? But DD likes it.

Again, you're amazing! :thanks:

Re the shirt - beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it's appearance is probably irrelevant to your DD - you made it. :)

Last weekend, there were no golf carts available at all the entire weekend. They put my brother in law on a waiting list but made sure to tell him that it was pages long. They were looking forward to having one so I'm just bringing it up to let you know the possibility just in case you have your heart set on it. If they rented bikes overnight, the golf cart would hardly be needed though!!

Pages long wait list for golfcarts...
...but restrict offsite vendors because there are too many carts running around...
