Polynesian Construction/renovation Letter

I have a lake view studio booked before the Member Cruise. I got the letter. I am staying in Aulani in September and thought the letter was referring to Aulani! The Polynesian theme fooled me.

Just wanted to update- the main pool opening has been delayed and is now scheduled for mid-april. per the tikiman facebook page
 
I'm really disappointed but I guess I should have expected it. I rebooked our first two days (April 1-2) in the Poly lake view studios. My reasoning was that later on, when all is said and done, the lake views will be hard to get (I still haven't been able to get a VGF studio stay). We have park plans but I was hoping we could forget some of them and just hang out at the pool for our midday break, esp. on our MK day. Hope I'm not too disappointed in the quiet pool; I remember it being kind of boring. We already have a TL day planned so no point going there for just a couple of hours.
This is a surprise for DH so I hope at least we can find some hammocks to lay on for a while and try out that new bar. Worst case scenario is that this is a mistake and we laugh about it later when we move to BWV.

Are we going to be allowed to pool hop since the main pool wont be open? My kids want to hang out and play pool games so I was planning on SSR as a backup (they like it there) but I noticed in another thread pool hopping is blocked until after we are there.
 
I believe people who are there while the main pool is closed are offered tickets and transportation to Typhoon Lagoon.

I am bummed. We are going 4/5 - 4/12 and I was hoping the pool would be open by then. I was thrilled to be able to grab a reservation (since we own at SSR) and we were hoping for a more laid back relaxed vacation. Typhoon Lagoon is not my answer to a laid back pool afternoon.

Oh well, too late to change back to SSR.

I have not received a letter yet though. That is interesting.
 


I will be there 4/10 - 4/12 and again in October. I received the east pool closing letter for my October stay; nothing yet for April. I'm still hoping the main pool will be open sometime during my April trip. If not, I may try the leisure pool or hop over to the GF (black out time ends 4/5).

Wow. I was hoping to stay there in late January 2016. But if the pool won't be open . . . I'll have to reconsider.

This is my issue too. I dont want water park access and I have a PAP. The kids want to play pool games. It is their favorite thing.

Ditto. September 10 solo for one night before heading to GFV for rest of trip and meeting up wih my mom.
 
When I spoke with MS yesterday, they mentioned that there will be a GORGEOUS "infinity type" hot tub?
I asked if it was "modeled" after Aulani and she said it will be very similar!
SOUNDS AWESOME! CAN'T WAIT to try it in October!:cheer2:

And it says the east pool will be closed mid April.
But that you
Can use the new lava pool and infinity hot tub.

Hoping this is good news.

But I guess this is the same letter everyone else got.

We'll be there April 17TH. Wonder if we'll get a pass to TL? I would love to stop there just to take pictures. We don't normally do the water parks. Went to BB once when we got a deal on a premium ap. Not worth it for us to buy a ticket just to walk around. But if we could get a free pass... That would be great! pixiedust:
 
Just got back from a stay in a studio, garden view Moorea. Construction was right outside our window and on the morning of the 3rd, started at 715am (despite Disney letter promising a 9am or later start). The sound of trucks back up beeping easily woke up everyone in that part of the resort at that hour.. I would HIGHLY discourage staying there until construction is done there. Complained at front desk....they had already knew there was an issue and was credited a small amount without question.

I did request Moorea. And I have standard view. Do you think Pago would be better.
So Moorea is not right beside the quiet pool. So what was the construction they were doing?

Construction started promptly at 7am on the 2nd as well. We were farther down towards the TTC in Moorea so it was annoying not terribly loud. I'm sorry you had that right outside.

There is a building under construction right by the quiet pool. There is also some contruction right between Pago and Moorea. Unless you request parking lot view in Pago, I doubt you can escape it.
