How does Photopass+ work in DLR?

I'm trying to find the best options for photographs for our trip in October. There will be 31 of us, that's my husband's parents and their children, spouses and assorted offspring. We will be together 90% of the time. Does each individual family need their own or will one work for all of us? Will it give us attraction photos?

We won't be doing character dining, but our favorite group shots from our last trip were all done by DLR photographers, so we'll need a few of those. The photos of the 17 cousins/grandkids are always a ton of work, and much better when taken by a professional. ;)

You will get one lanyard PP+ card when you redeem the voucher or purchase PP+ in the park. You will need to use that card for the attraction photos. What my group did was have someone in the group take a photo of the ride photo number and tezt it the peraon woth the lanyard. Then the person with the lanyard went back later and added the photo to the card when we split up. It was a bit time consuming, but pretty easy.

I just got my PhotoPass+ in the mail for my upcoming trip. Our first night there we will have dinner at Goofy's Kitchen (no park visit that day). Do you know if I can exchange the voucher there that day so we don't waste park time doing so?

I have read that you can redeem your PP+ voucher at character meals but I would suggest calling them to verify!

I just spent almost 20 minutes on the "chat" with Disney about this and the person didn't even understand what PhotoPass+ was! Very frustrating. She gave me a number (in Florida) where PhotoPass is based out of. I plan to call tomorrow. The number is 407-560-4300

I am not sure, but you should be able to keep the card from the character meal and have it added to your photopass + account

Yes, I am surprised every time I take the voucher in they seem to have no idea that I already have the CD and code and just need the PP+ card. I get the impression they don't sell very many in advance at DLR. Usually some head scratching and then one person says "Oh yeah!"

I would call Disney Dining tomorrow and see if they can transfer you to Goofy's kitchen front desk (or ask on your behalf). Try during a slow time of day. I bet they can put on a Photopass card for you. Or at least add the photo later from the system. Seems more direct than Florida.

Edit: My PP+ also just arrived in the mail. Here we go!

I would email them for the most knowledgeable response, IME. A couple of my recent PP photos were lost (permanently, alas, due to an "equipment problem" :() and, yes, they had me dealing with the WDW Photopass people at this address:
WDW.Photo.Imaging@Disneyworld.com

Or, I agree about connecting with Goofy's directly.

If you don't have the PP+ card before your meal, be advised that you won't get the printed package of photos, if that matters to you, even if you are able to add the PP card to your account.

I called 407-560-4300 and asked this exact question yesterday. The person I spoke to indicated that I should be able to exchange the voucher at Goofy's Kitchen. She also indicated that I should take my confirmation email as well. I am going to be trying this on 5/7 hoping that it works for us.

I was there a year ago and watched someone purchase the photopass + lanyard at Goofy's Kitchen. If you can do that, then I think there would be no reason why they couldn't exchange the voucher.

We just got back from a trip this weekend. We started our trip with Breakfast at PCH Grill with Mickey. I brought my voucher with me and at the end of our meal walked it over to the photopass photographer at the front of the restaurant. She passed it along to a lead who wandered into the back and after awhile returned with our photos, our PP+ lanyard, and a second copy of the disc they mail you. It took maybe 15-20 minutes, but was way faster than it would have been to go into the park and back first. It didn't seem to be a problem at all. I can't see any reason why this would different at any of the other character dining locations.

For anyone who isn't starting with a meal but doesn't want to spend their first stop in the park at the photo centers, you can get your photos on one of the cards they hand out and add them to your account later when you have time to exchange your voucher. This is also how they will do things when they are taking shots of group events. For example, my daughter participated in the Jedi Training Academy and we were given a card instead of them adding the photos to our pass at the event. When I went to the photo shop, they were able to sort through the photos with me so we only added the ones that included my child. We ended up with similar cards for some shots of her sledding at Frozen Fun, and riding the Mater attraction at DCA.

If anyone has any other questions, I would be more than happy to share what we learned as it is still fresh in my memory. :)

Thank you for asking this question. We are also going as a large group this summer and I was wondering the same thing about one account. I guess my other question would be if you have multiple photopass+ accounts, can the photographers add the photos they take to both/multiple photopass+ accounts?

Also, thanks on the information about the character dining. We are also starting our trip with a character dinner before the park so it's nice to know you can exchange the voucher at the restaurant.

Thanks for the updates! I'm so happy we may be able to exchange the night before at Goofy's Kitchen!!

I would imagine the photographers could scan the photos to multiple accounts, but I didn't try. I do know that they can put batches of the same photos on multiple cards (like at the Jedi Academy), so I would just ask when you first approach them for a shot. Every PP cast member I interacted with was very helpful and knowledgeable.

If your big group wanted to split one PP+ account that would work quite well if you don't mind distributing the photos after download/CD arrival. The only time this would not work is if you split up and went to separate character dinings at the same time. The lanyard (or voucher) is required to get your printed package in these locations. In all other cases, you can get a card with a number to add to the account later if the lanyard wearer is not present at the time the photos are shot. Ride photos you just need the number of the photo and then the lanyard holder can return to the ride kiosk before the end of the day to add photos to the account. We just snapped a photo on our phones.

My sister and her husband returned to the park yesterday and as my account was still in the 14 day window, they had some photos taken and sent me the numbers so I could add them and I will just upload them to our shared Dropbox when my CD arrives. I had no issues adding these shots even though I have been home from the parks for about a week.
