Trying to Disign myself!

Hi all. I am obsessed with this forum!!! LadyB has even been kind enough to personalize a few items for me!! I am trying to do a little myself and cannot for the life of me figure out how to make a blank mickey head that I can then insert pictures/patterns into on Word or Photoshop. I am also playing around with the program gimpshop. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! In photoshop I have been able to make the basic mickey head shape, but cannot figure out how to make it one cohesive shape to then fill in. It stays as 3 separate circles. I probably sound really stupid, but cannot figure this out myself! Please help!

Not sure if this will help, but in Photoshop Elements, you click on one layer, then click the CTRL button and choose the other layers you want to merge. Then right click on one of the layers and choose "merge layers". Hopefully it is similar in full blown Photoshop.

Thanks Amy. I will try it to see if it works!! Thanks! My husband had PS from work so I thought I would use it. He's in IT and I'm in the medical field so I have no CAD experience at all!! Just playing around with it to see what I can figure out! Thanks again!

Sounds like you need to merge the layers as Amy pointed out above. Another trick you can do is save it as a png or gif file (I prefer png because it does not alter the color at all as jpeg and gif tend to). This will auto merge the layers for you but keep your background transparent (if you save as png or gif). You will need to save it and close the file and then open the new file in order to see the layers merged. Hope this helps

Howdy! Pardon me if you already have the issue solved.

Micky & Lady Boadicea are correct. You need to merge the layers. In Photoshop, highlight the layers that you want merged. Do this by holding shift and left clicking on the layers. Once done, right click on one of the layers and select "Merge Visible". That should merge all layers together. Then you should be able to fill using your paint bucket tool.
