Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

Don't you think the 1980 promo was a bit hokey? That song! Today's advertising is more hip hop, youth oriented. Times change.
But I like hokey.. That's where the memories lie with me. And it showcases what the topic is all about. I can do without the hip hop, thankfully my kids can do without too.

Anybody seen Robin Hood lately? This was during the parade in 1982.

Yes, we met him during Character-palooza last month! I think I squealed and screamed about how I hadn't ever had a chance to meet Robin Hood before. I'm such a dork...

Really enjoying this thread! I wish I had some of our old pics from the 80's and 90's around... I think they're somewhere at my parents' house.

THIS!!

This was our favorite thing to do each trip when it was offered!

I've been working my way through this thread for the last couple of days and I'm loving it! My first visit was back in 1995. It's fun to see things I remember from that trip, and some things I'm reminded of. I know I have a few old pictures around the house too.

:thumbsup2 YES!!!!! I always say that the best money I have ever spent at WDW - hands down - was on E*Ride Nights. I remember riding things Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain at least 5 consecutive times each without ever getting off. We'd get to the end and the CM would just ask if we wanted to keep going beacuse there was no one else waiting. I would love for them to do away with EMH (flame suit on) and bring these back. Of course, if they did that the price would be at least 5x what it was and the limit on the numer of tickets they would sell for these would likely increase at least 10-fold.

When Epcot first opened, the word "kiosk" had a whole new meaning. This was the "Worldkey Kiosk" where you could get information and make same day dining reservations.

We did this just after it opened. I had forgotten what it looked like.

Man, I wish our scanner worked. I have photos from when I went as a kid. The first time was a year or two after Epcot opened. I have pictures of me parading with the American Experience parade. I can't remember what it's called, but someone posted a picture of it earlier. I also have pics of the Skyway. Seeing this stuff is really going to make next week at work really hard. It will seem like an eternity until Friday gets here and we fly to Orlando to my happy place:goodvibes

I remember this. They had video conferencing with cast members to make Dining reservations and such.

I am not sure if anyone has our photos from the last family trip in 1989, but I love looking at everything that's being posted!! I was 5 on that trip and I'm currently planning a trip with my 5 year old. It's nice to see I didn't dream up some of the things I thought we did back then.
