In room dining is available at BCV. Tried to include your message on the original response, but it didn't take. So I assume a "Yes it is" would not make a lot of sense! Hence, the editing.

Ariel's
2. What is Ariel's? Is it an abandoned restaurant? What did it used to be? Anyone know?

Thanks!
Ariel's is used for private parties. It is located in the BC next to Martha's Vineyard, the BC lounge. We saw a private party in there last Friday night.

Can someone provide the times that food is provided at the Beach Club Concierge? I trying to plan my dining reservations. Thanks.

We are booked in on August 29th-September 8th this year for our honeymoon!

This will be my first trip to the YC and I've always wanted to stay there, primarily due to it's proximity to Epcot and the Studios. I never spend much time at the pool but maybe Stormalong Bay will make me reconsider that this year.

Any suggestions for room requests? We'd like somewhere with a fairly decent view, and preferably a bit quieter, but we're not too fussy.

Some good news today. Had my six month check-up at Moffitt Cancer Center and I'm good to go for six months. Yippeee me!!!

And Jeanne and Lily are running/walking in a 5K Bubble Race in Vegas tomorrow. Hopefully Dee will post of the pics Jeanne posts on facebook.

Great news regarding your check-up! Good luck to Jeanne and Lily! They will be ready for the Disney Princess 5K soon! Always trying to recruit new princess runners (so far, I've only recruited our three boys - we may have the only teen boys running the Glass Slipper Challenge!) :)

Congratulations! Which room category did you book?

No need to scan through the entire thread. Go to page #1 and there's a hyperlink to the Beach Club Resort Rooms. If you click on it you will be taken to the page that has pics of the newly refurbed rooms. And if you click on the hyperlink for Club Level you will see pics of the newly refurbed Club Lounge!

Just an FYI, the 1st page of these FAQ Threads are where you can get 90-95% of your questions answered. :thumbsup2
Thank you! Very helpful.

Mya is so sweet! (Love the full name :) )

I especially like that Trixie middle name. Who ever came up with that has some exceptionally good taste in doggy naming!

Also, does anyone know if they've finished the 4th floor refurbishments yet?

Great question. I have not heard definitively that the 4th floor is completed, but I am guessing it is. In mid-Feb, they were almost done and had started on the third floor. I haven't had any more recent updates.

:)

Hi Dee - we're checking in on 3/28 and checking out 3/30 You have me listed under March but I don't think I ever gave you the dates.

Thanks! I'll add the dates.

:goodvibes:

I could not find bus routes. I think resort to MK is direct. I'm thinking of combining AK with a Water Park day and may dress for both when leaving in the morning, but do not know if AK is first stop with water park (which) on return or Water Park stop is first stop before AK. Anyone know?

The bus stops at Blizzard Beach first and then goes to AK. It does the reverse on the return, leaving AK. then stopping at Blizzard Beach before returning to the YC/BC.

That's a great plan! We usually combine a half-day at AK with some time at Blizzard Beach because it is so easy to get to BB and we are always super hot after a morning with the animals.

:fish:

Do I have this right? .. going to MK from BC when they open at 9 and Close at 7 for night of joy. I want to do rope drop and try to get on many rides before fast pass. I need to be at the Bus at BC at 8 AM?

I think so. It only takes about 15 minutes from the BC to MK, so that would build in plenty of time if you have to wait for a bus.

:thumbsup2

Dee,
Page 1 Looks great! Much easier to read. Thank you for all you do!!

Great! You are welcome.

:)

Just want everyone to know that Disney does listen to your feed back. You may remember that Dee posted that I was not happy that the takeout menu at Beaches and Cream had been scaled back. I emailed guest services and in a polite way described how B&C was part of our WDW/BC tradition and that I hate others wouldn't be able to enjoy B&C like we had in the past.

Well Disney (Nicole) called me today to discuss my complaint and what I saw as a solution.

This is the second incident recently where I personally saw that Disney listens to it's customers.

Thanks for sharing Disney's follow-up response with us. It really is important to let Guest Communications know if there was a problem with your trip, if you have a suggestion, or better yet, if something was really magical. I was contacted by someone at Disney to discuss the trial quick service breakfast at Beaches & Cream. Although they didn't keep it, I really felt that my input was considered.

::yes::

Can you add me to the list, we are going May 29-June 6

:welcome: back!!!

Will do! Which resort?

Pool Hours:

Dee the March activities schedule doesn't mention pool hours. Do you happen to know them for March?

Leaving in 1week and 1day!

I'm glad you made it safely. The news is highlighting a couple plane issues. One was a delta plane that skidded off an icy runway in a NY airport.

Can you report the operating hours of the Marketplace and/or Storm Along? I read that all pools should remain open until 11PM, but need to know if lifeguards are present until close.

Marketplace open until 11, and Stormalong Bay appeared to have closed by 9:30 or 10 when we checked in.
I will will gather more info today.

SAB closed at 10 PM last night but it was a ghost town at 9:30 or so which we didn't mind too much :)

Unfortunately, I have not found a good source for determining the pool hours at different times of the year. I think it is because the closing time can change, even within the same week, based on weather and crowd conditions. The best way figuring out times is from live reports, so thanks dwdeb and browncats!

:thumbsup2

*************************************************

Checked in to BC CL last evening!
Lounge is lovely, room is overlooking Storm along Bay.
It is one of the smaller rooms with the dormered ceiling.
Pretty and cozy!
So nice to be in the warmth; flew put of Providence, RI in the snow!

Sounds like a great start!!! Hope you have a fantastic trip.

Soak in some sunshine for me!

:sunny:

I'm on the Be Our Guest list for Mid-March but I just wanted to let everyone know that we're checking in on March 18, checking out March 21st. We've got a character breakfast at Cape May the morning that we check in but the rest of the day is going to be spent at the pool. If anyone has a toddler that would like a pool playmate please send me a message!

Got it!!! Thanks!

:)

Water Parks

We decided on typhoon since it has the wave pool and the water slide coaster. I've also read it has more of a theme park feel. Plus for 9.99 you get a huge sand pail full of ice cream that can feed four adults. That was the kicker for us!

At one 2 minute glance of a map and touring plan for both water parks - the most interested kid tells me Typhoon. I probably read the same blog reviewer for both parks. I will not be going for ambiance, though it does make the water park more special. I will be going for slides - and from what I read the slides at blizzard for better, especially for families. My group is all women (72 years young, 44, 15, and 14). Did they move Skylift to Blizzard? But, the shark pool would be missed. I do not get the thrill of being pounded by waves like being on a beach with a hurricane coming (been there), but I won't be able to give an opinion if I never try it. I am surprised this debate is not more active on the internet. Decisions...Decisions...

I prefer the theming (and musical playlist) at TL and I like the more active wave pool. But the family raft ride at Blizzard Beach kicks butt! Because it is easier to get to BB from AK, we usually end up there . I think the skylift has always been at BB, at least as long as I have been going there.

:fish:

You're just the person I was hoping to find here!! :yay:

Can you tell me where they are in the room rehab? I heard they were done with the 4th floor, are they working down the floors (on 3rd floor now)? So, the second floor hasn't been stated yet?
I am due there with DH in less than 2 weeks, celebrating our 30th anniversary. DH STRONGLY DISLIKES Disney World, but suggested we go because I love it so, and I am worried that if there is a bunch of rehab noise and/or "path closures", I will never get him to go again!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for March. Happy Anniversary!

:woohoo:

As far as I know, 4th floor is done, 3rd floor is being worked on, 2nd floor not started. I'm not sure about rehab noise, so anyone who is there or has recent trips, please share.

Now that SAB is fully open, I'm not aware of any path closures. There may be parts of the 3rd floor hallways that are inaccessible due to work.

Hope that helps.

:)

I'm sure this has been asked and answered at some point, but I didn't see anything about BCV in my search results-- is in-room dining available for BCV?

I actually can't remember seeing this question before...

:magnify:

Have I welcomed you here before? If not,

:welcome:

And thanks for the reply.

Hi, everyone. I am rejoining the thread! After our awesome vacation last summer at BC, we booked another one for this summer! This time it's club level! I have a couple of questions for the group. 1. Is the fourth floor renovation done? And where can I find pictures of the new rooms? (Sorry I didn't read all of the 186 new pages) and 2. What is Ariel's? Is it an abandoned restaurant? What did it used to be? Anyone know?

Thanks!

:welcome: back!

Which month are coming?

Yes, I believe the 4th floor is done, and as dansdad helpfully pointed out- links to pictures can be found on Page 1.

:thumbsup2

Time to join back up! We stayed at YC in 2013, BC last year and back to YC this Nov 12-19!

How awesome!! My 13 year old daughter has Type 1. I always tell the story of how from the day my daughter came home from the hospital after diagnosis, my dog went up to her every morning, put her face up to hers and stared at her to make sure she was ok. Just amazing!!!

God bless your family and your beautiful new companion!!

Here is a follow-up to my posts from last week. My friend John and I performed Hakuna Matata in front of an audience of about 600 people last Friday night for a middle school fundraiser. I finally got some decent pictures:

I love all the information and pics on this thread! The new rooms look great too. Just booked Beach Club garden view March 18th-21 for our spring break trip. We are doing a split stay with CBR first. Our family is excited since we haven't stayed at BC since 2010. I thought it would be a nice surprise since we will be in Disney over my DD's 15th birthday. They grow up so fast. Anyway we are looking forward to eating at Cape May Cafe and Beaches & Cream and spending time at SAB! Would you please add me to the Be our Guest list.

Thanks in advance,
Nichole

Do the std view rooms at the YC face the front of the hotel? Are there any garden view rooms facing the front of the hotel or are they pretty much facing the back of the hotel? Looked at page 1 for the views and couldn't really tell.
