I Can! I Can Stink at 9am! A January TR - 3/8 New TR Link!

I really liked Cynthia’s idea of purchasing a new mug at the beginning of the trip to use for coffee in the room and that would double as my souvie.

I would love to do this, but my coffee mug space is already totally full, and there are really only three mugs from which I enjoy drinking my coffee. The other ones are good for soup.

Then she got a fun magic shot with Olaf

You guys always take the best PP pictures and Magic shots. Someone in my party usually makes a dumb face, or we just don't get offered the Magic shots.

We made it back to the room in about 30 minutes and because it was dark when we checked into the room, I wasn’t able to get any views from the balcony until

Ooooh, could you see the fireworks from your balcony? Or were you ever in there when they went off?

He had gotten run over by a motorized scooter.

Yikes! See I always look closely at the scooter itself. If it is plastered with "Rent Me" stickers or other advertising that it is obviously rented, the person driving is most likely a rookie driver, and I try to give them a lot of room. If they rented in the parks, they likely have NO idea what they are doing and steer clear of them! However, kids don't know enough not to get in front of scooters, in fact they seem to like to play chicken with them!

We were on a bus by 7:24 to AKL so I think we were going to be cutting it close.

Did your DH make a bet with you on this one? :rolleyes1

I really, REALLY wanted to do the Naan bread service but a table of 6 next to me ordered it and I decided no way I was going to finish that and get an entrée.

I would have gone with Naan bread and appetizers, but that's how I eat everywhere.

So I went with the Choice of two dinner – Butter Chicken and Lamb Curry with Basamti rice.

We split that dish between the two of us when we went. It was very tasty! But we also had the Naan bread and a couple appetizers.

The curry was a bit spicy, but spicy is my BFF so this worked and the butter chicken was almost exactly how I make it at home, but this version was better.

Wow! You cook Indian food at home! The closest that I get is to buy the Chicken Tikka Masala simmering sauce in the "International Aisle" and then packets of the other side dishes that you just heat up.

No dessert. No beer. So sad.

And I find them at a table, both DM and DH laughing over wine and DS watching a cartoon on an iPad calmly. DH says, “Didn’t expect to see you so soon.”

Oh. My. God. I would have been so mad! Stuff like this happens to me all the time, except DH and DS are all wrapped up in one package in my case!

I'm glad you got the two desserts! I hope your DHS plans are still OK. Or you have a Plan B.

::yes:: unless an emergency happens I'm going, and VERY excited about it!!! :hyper:

OK, I need details, but not at the expense of hijacking Alicia's TR!

The pictures with Doug and Russell are so cute! I love those guys, such a fun meet and greet! :goodvibes
Your day at AK seemed like so much fun - I am excited to try Yak and Yeti when I am there this month!

That view from your room is GORGEOUS! My gosh waking up to that every day sounds heavenly! Glad you got to enjoy your party of 1 meal at Sanna, and at least you got some nice desserts in the end!:thumbsup2

I love Ds's shirt, Mike and Sully ROCK!:sulley:

When we got in line, Dug and Russell started walking away and I was afraid that they were done for the day but the CM assured us they were going on a break and would return in 10 minutes. In probably about 5 minutes, they came back
Seems like they take a lot of breaks, or maybe I just happen to catch them right before one. Last trip, they went on break and the lady behind me was really concerned that they weren't coming back. I explained to her and her child that they had to go "for a snack" (as the handler had said) and I'm fairly certain that she genuinely believed that is what they were doing. :rotfl:

Russell ‘asked’ where he was and he looked at both of our shirts and I said, “Well you’re supposed to be here on the porch” pointing at DH’s shirt and then Russell backed up against the wall like this
Love it! And love your shirts too! You're making me remember that I could use an updated avatar and I don't know if we'll get to AK in May (and none of my August pics with Dug are that great, so Dec. 2013 avatar will have to do).

The woman at the register couldn’t get over our shirts. She was an older lady and loved the movie and she just adored Kevin and wished that the parks offered more entertainment/attractions from Up.
Okay, that got me thinking about how super awesome it would be if there was a flying ride where you ride in a house and it appears to be balloon-powered. With a giant waterfall. A different version of Soarin', perhaps? :scratchin Oh, also, I was thinking of Kevin the bird the other day - the Disney Junior show "Miles From Tomorrowland" has a pet that reminds me of Kevin.

And of course, DM was being crazy protective about the balcony. She hated DS being out there with us. She thinks we’re going to pull a Michael Jackson move and hold him over the side of the balcony for a better view or something:rotfl2:
Izzy loves sitting out on balconies too. The only thing that worried me (at Aulani) was that she could possibly use a chair as a stepstool to get up on the rail. I kept a close eye on her, once I thought of that scenario (which totally did not ever come close to happening).

He had gotten run over by a motorized scooter. :scared1:
 That is terrifying! I mean, probably happens every day at WDW, but still terrifying!

And how funny it was that yesterday DS was afraid of the elevators and now it’s comforting to him :lmao:
Haha, those silly toddlers! :rotfl2:

Yes, I just ate curry and now I’m jogging from Kidani to Jambo and it’s kind of a trek.
Only the dedication of a mommy would prompt this. I cannot believe that you went through all that and they didn't even need your help. :sad2:

So I ordered TWO desserts
I like the way you roll! :thumbsup2 Desserts make everything better.

OK, I need details, but not at the expense of hijacking Alicia's TR!

Hopefully Alicia doesn't mind a mini hijack :)

By our October trip everything will probaby be arranged, but as of right now it's only a plan. Unless an emergency happens, like a parent gets sick and I need to care for them, I will be moving to Alaska early next year. Mid February to be precise. Nurse are in high demand up there and I think it will be a fabulous adventure. So I naturally won't be flying as much to WDW, but DL and Hawaii will be much more convenient. I'll probably stay 3-5 years and then decide where the next adventure will take me.

I'm still here!! Haha. Love your updates and love your poses for the pictures on the ride. :). Now I need to go figure out how to get those notifications in my email again. Then I need to come back and finish reading because I skimmed fast since I missed a lot.

I think your husband and I could have a talk about the Giants (and how pissed we are that Hunter Pence broke his arm yesterday) for hours...that's one thing I like about WDW...you always run into the nicest people and you have these crazy conversations like you've been friends for years! Cool that you met Doug and Russell...love the pics! Where the heck are Doug's eyes?!?! LOL!!! Since we've moved to Ohio we've missed the Wilderness explorer show they did in California Adventure...so glad there is a meet and greet in Animal Kingdom! Russell is even missing his "helping the elderly" patch..so cool!

Oh, we are eating at Sanaa during our trip in June...I'll save some Naan bread for you guys!

Hmmmm, it appears you and I dance the exact same way. Who would have thunk it?

:rotfl2: One thing I pay particular attention to in TR's is some people post the text before a picture and some after. So of course it took me a second to figure out for your Maharajah Jungle Trek that this picture didn't go with the quote "We got to see this pretty guy""

IMG_0575.jpg

I'm sure he's a lovely chap though.

I kinda like getting there so you can be in the line when the characters come out. It feels like they're coming out just for me (in my head).

I paused for a bit because I was mesmerized by that dive to home plate. WOW!!

Ugh so in love with that view and the fact that you can see the Monorail passing my. I want a Monorail.

Rob, if we're ever at AK at the same time, you and I will have to have a dance off in Asia to determine who dances better :rotfl:

:rotfl2:Well, I guess he can be a pretty guy!

I know, when I first saw that GIF, I thought it was so cool!

I loved our view of the monorail...and something else that I get to see in the trip!

Better watch out - that woman looks like she is eying his pretzel! Or giving you the stink eye for having the audacity to take a picture of food at Disney

I smell the jealousness coming off her!

Ok, I love your Up/Dr. Who shirt! I love all those mashed-up shirts (I saw a ton of Dr. Who Frozen ones - not sure if I saw your shirt though)

Thank you! TBH, I didn't even see the Dr. Who part until after I purchased it. I saw Balloons and Carl and Ellie and I immediately wanted it!

Sounds like a great meet with Doug and Russell - though I have to say the costume for Russell kinda freaks me out. Even more so now that they had Hiro from Big Hero 6 be a face character, so why is Russell a fur character? (clearly I have too much time on my hand if this is what I worry about)

:rotfl::rotfl2:

I love the above picture as your husband looks totally freaked out and your son is like "yeah, It's a dancing snowman, so what?"

DH always makes the most random faces in PP shots. I never know what i'm going to get until I pull them up on the PP website:lmao:

Um, didn't your special mommy powers allow you to sense that he was ok and not to rush? At least you got two desserts out of it (the pot de creme looks really good!)

Sigh, no. My powers failed me. :sad2:

You know, what guys always talk about ... just like women talk about shopping, make-up, and having pillow fights ;)

:rotfl:Pillow fights!:lmao:

Your dinner looked delishous and so sorry it got cut short by a possible tantrum....it made me laugh though because I would have done the exact same thing. At least you got two desserts out of the deal.

Thank goodness dinner was good, otherwise I would have been really upset about that whole evening! Oh well, makes for quite the story. And 2 desserts is MINIMUM for interrupting me :rotfl:

Loved the update!

How intense is the jalapeno cheese pretzel? They look SO good but I'm not so great with hot foods.

Love the idea of buying a mug at the beginning of the trip to have in the room. :thumbsup2

What beautiful balcony shots you got! What a view... :cloud9:

Your lobby pictures prior to your soon-to-be-interrupted dinner were absolutely gorgeous! The tree just makes them all the more magical. :goodvibes

Awww, what a wonderful mother you are - jogging all the way to Jiko after having just eaten. Big kudos to you! And especially since you were met with a completely calm situation upon arrival. :sad2: Excellent idea to get two desserts as a result... I would have done the same thing!!!

The pretzel is delicious! To us, it's not spicy at all but I think the cream cheese helps mellow out any spicyness. So good!

As soon as I had read about the idea of buying a new mug, I loved it! And now every time I got to pull my mug out of the cupboard in the morning, I immediately transport back to the villa at the GF

Jogging was so not fun, especially since I didn't even have a minute to digest!:crazy2:

I love your Doctor Who/up shirt I have one kind of like it but it is Doctor Who/Beauty and the Beast. Great update!

Thank you! I think mash-up shirts are so cool!

Okay here I am! Sadly trying to get caught up.

Hahaha, everyone should run when Momma needs her vodka.

You crack me up. Seriously. Tail. Lion.

Woo hoo you made it! Girl, I love salt too! Twins.

Perfect wesies. He does look happy to see himself in the phone!

I'm going to say it was the liquor that made you sit out first.

That's what I do every time I expel tons of energy and eat lots of sugar too!

If he does say so himself.

But when it's unintentional, it makes the picture better! I have no Dinosaur picture from this trip! A shame really. Well, at least I'm not in the Dinosaur picture. Your face though. That's pretty great.

OMG, of course the jalapeño cheese pretzel brings you to a screeching halt! You know what you need to get when you eat it again. Cheese to dip it in. For real. So much yum.

A kid got run over by a motorized scooter? Okay that's a problem. But leads me to a story that will be coming up in my PHM trip report, when Joaquin my nephew insisted that "Poppy ran me over with his scooter"......

Oh no. Dude, I would have been furious if my nice meal by myself had been interrupted and everything was okay! Two desserts and two beers would have been my demand.

I'm so glad you approve of the wesies! He totally loves checking himself out in my phone, our iPad, mirrors, etc, ETC!

Aw, what no Dinosaur pics?! I always look forward to your Dino pics

Is it sad that I've never thought about getting cheese for the pretzel?! That would make it 100 times yummier!

Uh-oh. Guess i'll have to watch out for the bat signal for your PHM TR!

Great AK day pictures! (I made responses within the quote, so you may have to expand it to see them)

Thank you!

I wasn't even aware of the video until I checked it out on the PP website to view our photos! I guess some of the magic shots come with video. I have another video when we're at DHS too! It's pretty cool.

Right now, he's totally looking like a blonde. Definitely got it from my dad, who had lighter brown/blondish hair, since DH and I both have really dark hair.

I LOVE Up! :cloud9: Your shirts are fabulous and it looks like you had a great meet with Dug and Russell. :goodvibes

Holy cow, A KID WAS RUN OVER BY A SCOOTER?! Yikes!

Your meal at Sanaa looked great! Despite the fact your fabulous meal was interrupted, I'm glad you got the chance to try it out!

This picture:
marlin-finding-nemo-theme-9-2-s-307x512.jpg

BRILLIANT! What a perfect way to capture your feelings at that particular moment. I am impressed that you kept that much composure. I would've been livid. >:(

(And yes, I agree with Danielle - you deserved those two desserts! ::yes:: )

Thank you! Too bad I couldn't find an Up shirt for DS to wear. That would have been cute!

I couldn't believe he got run over either! It was such a crazy, hectic moment. I mean, I'm sure people get hurt all the time by scooters and strollers, but he was on the ground.

I was so mad! But I probably would have been upset also if DS was crying and throwing a tantrum. So guess I should be happy that he was happy!

Fun updates!

I'm starting with my crazy horror that a kid got run over by a scooter! What? How awful!

Love the Dug and Russell pictures! Too cute with DH and you in your Up shirts!

I'm so with you on limiting grandparent souvenirs! I'm pretty sure my mom bought each boy a huge light up Mickey stick and a sword. Because those are so easy to pack in our suitcases. They made it home but I'm going to be eagle eye with her next trip.

It sounds like you had a relaxing, solo dinner...until the end! I would love to try the Naan service some day!

That kid must have cut that woman off or something! I couldn't believe what I was hearing or seeing.

The very first year we took her it was right before so she was doing the majority of her shopping there at WDW since my entire family loves Disney stuff. Huge mistake on our part. No we know to take her after Christmas :rotfl2:

You and your family did quite a lot that day at AK and your pictures with Dug and Russell are very nice.

The balcony view from your room is very nice and I would enjoy seeing the WDW Monorail go by every time I am outside.

The meals at Sanaa look very appetizing and good. I have never gone to the AKL and after seeing your pictures and the lobby with the Christmas tree, I will have to go there one day.

Very nice updates.

Thank Bret!

It was such a nice sight to see the monorail pass by. We could even see the headlights from our bed at night, so cool!

You would LOVE the AKL, i'm shocked you haven't been there! Even better at Christmas though.

Great updates, Alicia.

I don't like Jalapeno, but that pretzel does look awfully yummy (and I think the girl behind it is debating whether or not to grab it and run!).

We've eaten at Yak & Yeti sit down, but never the counter service.

Love seeing the lions, and the video with your husband talking about the "species of animal" had me :rotfl:

I'm so glad you got to meet Dug and Russell...they were one of my favorite character meets a couple of years ago. I have a new UP shirt so I want to be sure to try and see them in October.

I understand the curtailing of the souvenirs to fit them in your "own" luggage. My husband tells me that all the time. I'm so glad you got the DIS mug (I use that one every night).

Great photopass pictures, especially the one with Olaf. And I love the ones in front of the tree. I hadn't see that add on when we got ours with the trolls.

Awesome view from your balcony.

Run over my a scooter??? Ouch...that had to have hurt pretty bad.

I'm glad you made your meals on time and that you enjoyed yours. Did DH enjoy his at Jiko? We really enjoyed Jiko in December 2013.

I would have been upset with DH as well if I'd skipped out on a second beer and/or dessert and the child was calmly watching a cartoon.

Too funny that DH made a new friend and was going the wrong way. I wouldn't want to leave that little cutie pie behind though either.

I think that girl behind the pretzel is jelly that she didn't think to grab one on her way out of the park :rotfl:

DH and DM are always so 'mean' to each other, I love their relationship!

I saw your new shirt! Was it on FB?? And from Hot Topic right?! That's where we got DH's shirt from! They have the best Disney stuff.

They really did enjoy their meal at Jiko. I think instead of entrees, they ordered three different apps and wine so they were content with that, considering how 'late' at night it was. DM hates eating after 8 and it was close to that so apps were perfect!

I've never tried one. I probably should.

You definitely should, they are delicious and DH's number one favorite snack in all of WDW!

I'd ask how many you snuck home in your suitcase, but something tells me your DH probably didn't allow it.

If it's food, he won't care because it benefits him :rolleyes1

You're running that poor kid ragged!

Hey, if he wants to stay in the family, he's gotta learn how to tour properly :teacher:

:faint: That's a lot of souvenirs!

Yep and DH and I had to lug that around.

Ok, I didn't know there was an official "DIS mug." Maybe I'm out of the loop since I'm not a coffee drinker.

disbelief.gif

How do you live??

Wow. Impressive moves. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Just survival moves. No big deal.

Well, now you're definitely out of room.

:rotfl::rotfl2:

Awesome view. I mean, any room with a monorail view is a win in my book.

Absolutely! The view never got old.

Hey, that was after our ADR. But I don't even know how you can allow time for things like that. :rotfl:

 I don't know who was yelling that over and over. But it doesn't seem like it was very productive. :faint:

It was the kid yelling that! I need to go back and edit it, I was typing fast. But yeah, this 9 year old was screaming that, can you believe it?!

I'd be excited too! Kind of a nice change of pace.

It was really nice, but I think I deserve a do-over!

I'm glad you enjoyed your meal. But I'm definitely disappointed you didn't order and report back on the Naan. :sad2:

You and me both:sad2:

I don't know many desserts capable of those kind of powers. But I'm glad you got your desserts and enjoyed them. Even if it was in the wrong restaurant. :headache:

I'm such an incredibly, weak person when it comes to dessert. Pathetic:sad2:

How do you live??
Well, I live without having ever spent 10 bucks on a cup of coffee at Starbucks. :thumbsup2

It was the kid yelling that! I need to go back and edit it, I was typing fast. But yeah, this 9 year old was screaming that, can you believe it?!
Ok. If that was my kid, his leg would be the least of his worries if he was laying there yelling that over and over. :sad2:

It was really nice, but I think I deserve a do-over!
::yes::

::yes:: unless an emergency happens I'm going, and VERY excited about it!!! :hyper:

What a fun update! Love your interaction with the Up characters, loved that movie! A sequel would be awesome.

How horrible about the scooter incident! The screams are a bit much, not like the person meant to run over the child...

Not cool about your interrupted dinner, but glad you got some tasty treats out of it all. Those desserts looked fabulous. Gorgeous pictures of both the resorts and the Christmas decorations!

Frozen is not my favorite, as you already know, but those Magic shots are too cute!

Sorry, I need to go back and edit my post, but it was the kid that was screaming that over and over!:scared::scared:

Yep, we both know our stands on the movie, but i'll never turn down a magic shot!

Bloody Mary's, Beer, you're my kinda girl!!!

Love your idea of lunch at AK. Pretzel, fried rice, and egg rolls - Looks like the 3 new food groups to me.

Glad you got the mug, tres chic. I love the idea of using it during the trip. My hubby always buys one but waits to the end. Might as well get some good mileage out of it.

What a great view from your balcony. Was that a wedding going on?

Absolutely brilliant to split up for dinner - panicked phone call aside. Though we at at both Jiko and Sanaa last week and I'm not sure I'd be able to decide which of you to dine with. Of course you ended up getting the best of both worlds.

Clearly, me and you need to hang out if we both enjoy the same beverages and food! :hyper:

It was actually a family reunion! We had to cut through them on the walkway on the way back to our room and it was a very large group from very young to old. That would be quite fun!

Awesome that you were able to eat at both and you're so right, I got best of both worlds!

The Jalapeno cheese pretzel looks great. I am glad you had a good dinner before you got the panicked phone call. You defiantly deserve 2 desserts for rushing over to Jiko only to get the respondents you didn't need to rush and that everyone was calm and good.

I know you're leaving tomorrow and I hope you have an amazing time!!!

I would love to do this, but my coffee mug space is already totally full, and there are really only three mugs from which I enjoy drinking my coffee. The other ones are good for soup.

I have to promise DH that i'll throw away a mug each time I get a new one. Luckily, I always keep ugly, old mugs up there that I don't mind throwing away. See what I did there! :teacher:

You guys always take the best PP pictures and Magic shots. Someone in my party usually makes a dumb face, or we just don't get offered the Magic shots.

I don't even know they offer Magic Shots until they tell us to do something, like point. For the Trolls, I don't think we even knew there was going to be a Magic shot so it was cool to see when I looked our pics up.

Ooooh, could you see the fireworks from your balcony? Or were you ever in there when they went off?

:hyper:

You're good:thumbsup2

I never even thought about looking for "Rent Me" stickers on them. Thanks for that heads up. There was a woman later on in our trip that clearly had never driven one before and she started backing up and spinning brodies multiple times:scared: I was really tempted to help her but didn't want to interfere if she really was trying to do something.

I'm not sure if this kid was part of the group with the lady in the scooter, but they placed him in her lap to move her. Not sure if it was just to move him from one area to the other or what though :confused3

Did your DH make a bet with you on this one? :rolleyes1

He learned the first time :rotfl:

I would have gone with Naan bread and appetizers, but that's how I eat everywhere.

I know, I disappointed myself.

We split that dish between the two of us when we went. It was very tasty! But we also had the Naan bread and a couple appetizers.

Way to rub it in :rotfl2::lmao:

Oh. My. God. I would have been so mad! Stuff like this happens to me all the time, except DH and DS are all wrapped up in one package in my case!

:rotfl2::rotfl:

OK, I need details, but not at the expense of hijacking Alicia's TR!

Are you kidding? Please hijack! :hyper:

The pictures with Doug and Russell are so cute! I love those guys, such a fun meet and greet! :goodvibes
Your day at AK seemed like so much fun - I am excited to try Yak and Yeti when I am there this month!

That view from your room is GORGEOUS! My gosh waking up to that every day sounds heavenly! Glad you got to enjoy your party of 1 meal at Sanna, and at least you got some nice desserts in the end!:thumbsup2

I love Ds's shirt, Mike and Sully ROCK!:sulley:

Yak and Yeti (counter service) is always delicious, but it can be hot outside. Luckily you'll be going when the weather will be nice. So jealous!

I always left the heavy curtains open in our room so I can see the sunlight and lights from the monorail come in. So nice!

Sulley is DS's FAVORITE character ever! He sleeps with a Pillow Pet of Sulley and a regular sized stuffed Sulley. Obsessed!

:rotfl:

I remember you saying that in your TR! I remember the handler said something really cute like, "potty break" but cuter. So I left it out cause I couldn't remember. Love when they make up reasons for the characters needing to take a break!

Love it! And love your shirts too! You're making me remember that I could use an updated avatar and I don't know if we'll get to AK in May (and none of my August pics with Dug are that great, so Dec. 2013 avatar will have to do).

Don't you have AP's? Or you guys have a lot scheduled with SW huh?

Okay, that got me thinking about how super awesome it would be if there was a flying ride where you ride in a house and it appears to be balloon-powered. With a giant waterfall. A different version of Soarin', perhaps? :scratchin Oh, also, I was thinking of Kevin the bird the other day - the Disney Junior show "Miles From Tomorrowland" has a pet that reminds me of Kevin.

Oh my gosh, that would be so much fun! And you're so right about Miles From Tomorrowland. Is it sad, that we're both grown women, and know what 'Miles From Tomorrowland" is?? :rotfl:

Izzy loves sitting out on balconies too. The only thing that worried me (at Aulani) was that she could possibly use a chair as a stepstool to get up on the rail. I kept a close eye on her, once I thought of that scenario (which totally did not ever come close to happening).

:faint::scared: Thinking about that makes me cringe :scared::scared:

Haha, those silly toddlers! :rotfl2:

You know how that goes! :lmao:

Only the dedication of a mommy would prompt this. I cannot believe that you went through all that and they didn't even need your help. :sad2:

I think had DH been saying this in front of my DM, she would have taken the phone and said everything's fine, but because DH was by himself going up and down in the elevator he was freaking out. Sigh.

I like the way you roll! :thumbsup2 Desserts make everything better.

They're like my best friend. I can always count on them to cheer me up!

I'll probably stay 3-5 years and then decide where the next adventure will take me.

Oh my gosh, i'm soooooo excited for you! You need to keep us updated here please. Feel free to hijack anytime! It will be easier for me and Alison to see what's going with you here on this thread since you don't have one going on right now :goodvibes

I'm still here!! Haha. Love your updates and love your poses for the pictures on the ride. :). Now I need to go figure out how to get those notifications in my email again. Then I need to come back and finish reading because I skimmed fast since I missed a lot.

Hey love seeing your posts on IG! The girls are getting so big. And what's up with that TR?! Still waiting :rotfl:

Yep, DH mentioned Pence as soon as he got home from baseball practice yesterday:headache: Ugh. And you're so right, you can run into some of the coolest people!

:rotfl2::rotfl:I know where the heck are his eyes?! :lmao::lmao:

Hey, good catch on the missing patch! :thumbsup2

Ah, please do have some Naan for me! Only a few months left for you guys

Well, I live without having ever spent 10 bucks on a cup of coffee at Starbucks. :thumbsup2

I usually only order drip coffee, so i've never spent $10 on a cup either. But when I worked there, the most i've seen anyone pay for a single cup was 13 and change :scared::scared: and he even told me the price it should be so that I got every addition in his drink correctly. Disgusting.

Ok. If that was my kid, his leg would be the least of his worries if he was laying there yelling that over and over. :sad2:

Exactly I'd be so, so embarrassed.

Alicia, I forgot to comment on your Yak & Yeti lunch. That's exactly what we do there too! We split a fried rice and each get an egg roll. It's just perfect! :thumbsup2 I don't want to promise you, but I will try to remember to grab some of the hot sauce on our trip and give it to you at my birthday party. I saw the packets in your picture, but they weren't very clear. If we remember, I hope I grab the right ones.

Wow! That's quite an adventure! Where exactly Anchorage? Or one of the smaller cities? One of my ex boyfriends had a sister and she and her husband lived in Ketchikan. They had interesting stories about how difficult it was to get supplies, and other stories about living in a small town.

OMG, how cute is that photo of Calvin on the balcony! :thumbsup2

Sorry about your dinner at Sanaa being cut short and sorry you had to run over to Jambo. But better to find a happy Calvin than a moody one. And maybe you were even "in luck", as we prefer Jiko's desserts to the ones at Sanaa. ;)

I am all caught up again. :bounce:

Late to the party but reading along! Your family is gorgeous!

I also admit that I just obsessively read your TR for Calvin's 1st trip. :)

We are Disney vets and next month is our next trip. It will be our girls 6th trip, but the 1st trip for our new little guy!! He will be 15 weeks old at the time of the trip. We have never brought an infant before since our girls were 3 and 5 on their 1st trip. Totally got a lot of tips from your TR, thanks! :)

hahah I would have killed my DH too if he pulled that one! At least you got 2 dessert out of the deal!!!

Fun times at AK! Especially the Russell and Dug M&G- you were perfectly attired for that interaction. If my DH had me limit the souvenirs I'd seriously consider "accidently" leaving something of his behind to fit the new swag. Ok, maybe not but I have had to purchase an extra Disney bag before leaving.

Yum! Y&Y egg rolls. Assuming the same as the sit down restaurant.

Oh my. Scooter versus pedestrian. The scooter won but perhaps the kid could learn a few new words in his vocabulary. :P

Oh wow! Yeah,

What's this you say? It was the kid screaming like that? And then they put him in the lap of the scooter driver? I think they knew each other and maybe this kid had it coming....:duck:

Are you kidding? Please hijack! :hyper:

Oh my gosh, i'm soooooo excited for you! You need to keep us updated here please. Feel free to hijack anytime! It will be easier for me and Alison to see what's going with you here on this thread since you don't have one going on right now :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm so excited! I wish it could be sooner but I have obligations here that I have to see through.

I'll go to the place that has the most lucrative job offering. If I'm going it doesn't matter where. They have a government site that has all the available jobs, the more remote the better the pay. I'm up for anything.

I've read about the supply issues, I'm going to have to stockpile my diet dew. That's really the only thing I 'need'. :)

Wow! That's very ambitious! Best of luck! What about Conner?

If he's still here in 11 months he will come along for the journey. He's turning 14 in May. He's still got quite a lot of spunk but has periods of showing his age. You never want to think about the worst but it's inevitable.

I'll have many more details in October I'm sure.

I think he was done with running, walking and being awake in general.

I can totally relate to that.

I said, “Well you’re supposed to be here on the porch” pointing at DH’s shirt and then Russell backed up against the wall like this
and started shaking. So cute!

Awesome!

So I bought what is considered ‘The DIS mug” cause everyone has it

Yup, my wife has that one.:rotfl2:

This picture is hilarious. DH is trying to get DS to turn around so he’s making ‘gasping’ noises like, “WOW! Look over there!”

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

And of course, DM was being crazy protective about the balcony. She hated DS being out there with us.

:sad2: You'd think she would be more worried about those electric scooters. I hear those are dangerous.

Seriously, like someone was being murdered and someone starts screaming over and over, “SON OF A B****!” just constantly. And we look and see a group forming around a kid. He had gotten run over by a motorized scooter. :scared1: Forgot to add, it was the kid that was screaming "SOB" over and over :scared::scared:I’m not sure what ultimately happened to him but he could not walk on the leg that had been run over. Because this incident was happening in boarding area, the monorail could not run.

See?!?!

It’s not big and grand like Jambo’s lobby, but still is gorgeous.

Beautiful place!

This was my first time eating at a sit down meal all by myself and I was so excited! Is that bad? I was asked by the hostess, “Only 1?”

I wouldn't have any idea what to do!

“DS is having some type of nap terror. He woke from a nap screaming and crying and had to take him out of the restaurant and the only thing that makes him stop crying is the elevator and I don’t know what to do!”

Two things I remember thinking: Could I chug a beer quickly if I went to the bar? And how funny it was that yesterday DS was afraid of the elevators and now it’s comforting to him :lmao: I told him I’d get the bill and go over fast.

That'll teach you for trying to do fun grown-up stuff.

And I find them at a table, both DM and DH laughing over wine and DS watching a cartoon on an iPad calmly. DH says, “Didn’t expect to see you so soon.”

I could have decked him. “You said DS was being hysterical?!” “Oh, he’s fine now, you didn’t have to rush over.”

Afterwards we headed to bed and didn’t fall asleep until close to 1. Would this wreck our plans for DHS?!

1:00? Wow, you'd think it was your only day in the park or something.
