Is Citadel LA Outlets worth the trip?

I visited Citadel about 10 years ago, didn't really see the big deal that time. I preferred the Premium Outlets in Hawaii. I will be going to California and Hawaii next trip - did you score anything worthwhile at Citadel to make a trip there worthwhile - how was the Disney Outlet?

We went in 2011, can't remember too much about it, other than I bought things at Gap, Old Navy, etc. Premium Outlets that we have subsequently visited ( Las Americas, Camarillo, Las Vegas, Orlando) have been better. Having said that I am tossing up between a quick trip to Citadel or the Block at Orange in Apr. Won't have DH and car, so will be relying on taking a shuttle to Citadel, or the ART to The Block.

I think I prefered the Block at Orange better. We also bought at Old Navy and Gap etc. We're not into high end clothes etc.

Definately the Waikele Premium Outlets are great, particularly as they are so close to Aulani!!

However having just recently been to Citadel it is definately worth the trip, the Disney outlet was great.
It is much better than Block of Orange if you have to choose.

When we went in 2011, we bought just as much there as we bought at the Premium Outlets in Vegas, and I seem to recall that sales tax might be lower in LA so it made Levi's cheaper at Citadel (or was it the other way around? Maybe I'm confused!) We took the shuttle from our hotel to Citadel and thought it was well worth it (the AUD was a lot better back then though!)

Nice to hear lots of positives, I do love me a good shopping spree! I'd be particularly interested in the Disney Outlets, perhaps a cheaper option for souvenirs to give loved ones at home? Has anyone read about the new Mariott owned by Hojos being built next to them, it does look quite nice! I have part of my stay booked in with our travel agency for hojos but depending on the cost of this new property I don't mind to switch!

I really enjoyed my solo shopping expedition to Citadel, and it's recently expanded and is pretty massive as far as outlets go.

I found it less junky than other outlets I visited.

We were there last month, we were very disappointed with our trip to the LA Citadel, daughter was cashed up to shop up a storm and got hardly anything...just a wasted trip there

When we went in 2013 I purchased our tickets online before we went, once on the bus we were given a discount card, hubby got sunglasses quite cheap.
I did most of my shopping there but I guess most of the same stores are at the block of orange outlet stores.
I really loved the billabong outlet store at citadel.

Beejai - we had the discount card too and found not many of the shops we visited took them OR those that did, didn't accepts them on sales items...

Minneylovesmicky, true, I was happy though, hubby was buying $280 sunglasses and we saved about $100 I think

We LOVED Citadel and wished we'd allocated more time there. We got 3 pairs of Levis for $100, Converse for really cheap (I think 1 pair for $35 and another for $10) and the best ice cream!

I'm thinking I wont be able to resist a trip there, I wasn't 100% sure until I saw the Disney Outlet is there now (as if I didn't already have enough Disney on this trip!) I might need another suitcase!

They had a lot of stock when I was there too :)
There were also spaces for more stores so they'll probably be open by then too ;)
