WBC ordered through renting-resorts on ebay?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has purchased through renting-resorts on ebay or Square.

I rented a 4 br presidential for the week of Jan 18. It's a last minute trip so this was back on Dec 15. All my usual WBC contacts were booked. I paid for the ebay listing through Square as it instructed me to. I got a notice that my item has been shipped (presumably whatever was shipped included confirmation?) but I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet.

I am trying not to freak out--I know the mail runs slow this time of year, for one thing. I am a little nervous because I dug deeper here on TDB and see a few other people have had complaints. Also I have tried to get in touch through email, ebay, and phone and no response yet. The person could be on vacation, however he was very responsive when I placed my order originally so I expected to hear within 24 hours.

Thoughts?

While not getting a email response is one thing ... the unanswered phone call is another.

Keep calling their phone.

I do not know what you mean by the mail is slow. I assume your transaction was on a computer.

Remember renting a timeshare is different from a hotel reservation.

With a hotel you get a instant confirmation of the reservation.

A timeshare confirmation can take some time (simply put)

Make sure you check the email on file with Ebay and the email on file with your payment choice(square?). I bought WBC through Ebay and the reservation information was sent to an old address that I still had on my Paypal account. It was an easy fix.

I just booked with renting-resorts on eBay. I also paid via square. I've contacted them a few times through eBay and heard back within 24 hours. They said my reservation would be made by January 2 and I plan to call WBC around then to verify everything. I dont think you'll get any actual mail. It just gives a shipping date because most transactions on eBay involve shipping. I would suggest calling WBC to see if they have your reservation in their system.

This is reassuring. I think I expected something in the mail because it said it was shipping, and if it was just a matter of sending a confirmation number I didn't know why they wouldn't send it right away via email. I admit I may not understand completely how this works. Last time I went through Vacation Strategy and they handled everything and were always available, so that is what I am used to.

I called WBC and they have nothing in the system. Today the phone is going to voicemail so my husband and I both left a message. The guy was super easy to contact while placing the order (like minutes) so I am even more nervous that something is wrong. Of course I hope that nothing is...

You are still 20 days out from your trip. Power renters often use various tricks to maximize their Wyndham points and profits, thus your reservation confirmation may not come right when you pay.

When you buy a reservation on ebay, 99 percent of the time you get an email with your confirmation number. Make sure it didn't go to your spam folder.

I don't know why you haven't heard from him. I emailed him earlier today through eBay and heard back in a few hours. My stay isn't until the 2nd week in February and he said the reservation would be in their system on January 2. I did have to let him know the name to put on the reservation. The messages from eBay do go to my spam folder or you can check them directly in eBay.

My husband called about half a dozen times and finally got the person on the phone. The person from renting-resorts said he would send our confirmation the first week of January via email. As far as I can tell I wasn't missing anything as far as ebay communications or spam folders. I really hope this works out. Different experience than last time, for sure!

Thanks for the DM! I feel better knowing that he kind of always waits until the last minute. I will post a follow up when I get my guest certificate.

11 Days before our stay and we got our confirmation. The only downside I got several email responses and one phone call that said it would be next week, starting 6 weeks ago. He seems to have access to a lot of last minute inventory, so he has something figured out. I would say go ahead and rent from him, just know that you he is no Ken from Vacation Upgrades, so you will not get confirmation until the very end.

Glad it worked out for you.

There is a reservation number generated when a Wyndham Bonnet Creek Reservation has been reserved. If the reservation number is NOT given after an auction has ended, then the reservation has NOT been made.

It looks like this seller is using the VIP discount - for reservations under 60 days unless he works for Wyndham Vacation Resort directly. VIP discounts range from 25% to 50% off points and Unit Upgrades 30 to 60 days out depending on the VIP level.

You can see the levels by searching "Wyndham VIP Disount Points" and there is one that says "VIP Program Benefits - Home".
