Since all of the resorts on the monorail line now have a DVC component, doesn't a portion of those dues go to fund transportation? And wouldn't that include the monorail? I only ask because I would think if the monorail is going to begin receiving steady income in the form of transportation fee's from these hotels, that should help to increase the budgets afforded them, at least in an ideal world.

I believe I've seen this asked before but I've also never seen a definite answer.

I would agree that some portion goes to transportation, and that SHOULD include funding the monorail.

From the various Dues breakdowns:

Transportation fees for per point for each DVC. (Note, none of the off WDW property DVCs have any transportation fee.)
AKV ADV BCV BLT BWV HHI OKW PVB SSR VB VGC VGF VWL
0.4521 --- 0.2836 0.3013 0.3898 --- 0.6907 0.5278 0.5851 --- --- 0.3961 0.6718

BLT is the 2nd lowest @ 0.3013 per point. VGF is fairly low at 0.3961. Interestingly, PVB is rather high (0.5278), not sure why it would be higher than the other two.

Looks to me in general the four lowest are the MK and Epcot resorts (BLT, VGF, BCV, BWV) which make sense, indicating that bus transport is more expensive than boat or monorail. However, VWL is very high, which I can only think is due to (1) small resort that (2) requires much of it's own transport. OKW and SSR are I guess high because they require buses to ALL the parks, yet still have boats to pay for as well. (For DTD.) AKV is surprisingly low for it's location, which I can only think is due to the fact it only requires 2 bus-stops versus the multiple ones at SSR and OKW, and it doesn't have any secondary form of transportation.

Actually a good thing. The machines they have currently are pretty lousy - and very low capacity. Although in fairness to Disney, I don't know if I've ever encountered a good guest washer/dryer at any hotel. I also gotta think you'll be able to pay with MagicBands at WDW.

Wait..... they're adding washing machine capacity. How about some more RIDE capacity!!!!!

Keep in mind, that it also has to do with the size of the resort. The larger the resort, the more frequent the buses have to visit. SSR also needs separate buses for the Treehouse Villa's. Then you add boats to that also. Tons of transportation for some of these resorts.

Glad to see them not playing this up too big. It's probably a good idea (in theory getting people out of waiting in long lines on these rides) but it certainly isn't a big selling point to me. Using FP+ and rope drop, can't say I've ever waited more than 20 minutes for TSMM and even less for Soarin' (I don't think we've ever ridden Soarin' standby.) The other issue is will it mean shorter lines, or will it mean MORE people riding the ride, with lines just as long as today. Hopefully the former. Shorter rides on TSMM mean longer lines on the other 4 rides in the park - which won't really improve the experience much.

Am I the only one who sighs at the addition of more capacity on existing rides? I know I fuss a lot about needing more capacity, but how about innovating something NEW? Disney California Adventure is proof positive of what this approach will do for a park.
