DVC Rental

Hi All,

After recently listening to the DIS unplugged 7 in 7, I've decided on staying at the Beach Club for my October stay. I am looking to rent points for a weeklong stay, but I wanted to know what I'm in for.

I did some scouring on the site, but couldn't find an answer to the following question: When the reservation is made with DVC points, will I owe any additional amount(s)? For example, should I expect to get hit with resort fees and taxes?

The only DVC resort that I've ever heard of having any resort fees is Aulani. The Beach Club Villas does not have any additional fees associated with staying there, unless (and only) if you were to request additional services once on site. Such things would be daily housekeeping (as a timeshare, DVC provides housekeeping, to varying degrees of detail, once every 4 days or so) or additional bathroom items (such as shampoos, soaps, etc. - things that would normally be refreshed with housekeeping and are, but again - about every 4 days or so.)

If you are talking about October, 2015 then you might have trouble. Beach Club Villas are likely to be pretty well booked already. I would start looking NOW and have a backup plan ready. Good luck!

Beach Club is the hotel, Beach Club Villas is the DVC (timeshare) resort, located behind Beach Club. Are you interested in staying at the hotel or the DVC resort?

There is a night here or there for a studio, but not a week all together.

madtheswine, DVC rentals for BCVs and BWV over Food and Wine need to be planned a year in advance generally speaking.

Would agree you've waited too long for getting a week at BCV in October 2015. This resort is small and EXTREMELY popular during food and wine. To get a studio through rental you would have to rental owner points from a BCV owner, and book at least 9-10 months in advance to have any hope. You might find 4-5 nights in a row in a one bedroom, but full weeks will be hard to come by, and impossible in a studio.

op...if you see an ad with $95 resort fee or such, that is an exchange week, not a ressie made with dvc points.
