Adding a contract with same UY

I think I understand this, but just want to make sure.

If I buy a resale contract at the same resort and same UY, will those points just get totally combined with my current points?

For example, if I currently have 200 BLT tower points with December UY, and I buy a 100 point BLT contract resale, once that process closes and I log on to the DVC website to make a reservation, will it show me as having 300 BLT points for the upcoming UY?

I just want it to be as simple as possible so that I can make a 250 or so point reservation online one day without having to bank or borrow or call MS to transfer points or anything.

You are correct with one important addition, the contracts have to be titled exactly the same to live under one membership. You will see each contract listed separately, you choose which points to use when making a reservation.

also has to be titled the same. can't use a variation of your name or add someone else who was not on the 1st title.

your contracts will still be separate and can still be sold or willed separately, but yes, they would work seamlessly to book a reservation like you are describing.

Thanks for the replies. There shouldn't be any problem with them being titled the same. As long as that were the case, if say, I needed 207 points for a reservation, I could book it online and use all 200 points from the first contract and then 7 from the second contract without any calls or borrowing or transferring, correct? It would just be done like you said, seamlessly and automatically?

Yes, it would be that seemless. In fact, if you purchased a contract at a different resort but with the same use year, it's also that seemless at 7 months out. With the same home resort, it's seemless at 11 months.

Shouldn't be a problem but you need to make sure that it happens, notify your broker and the closing company. If a mistake is made and a separate account is set up by Disney, they are known for not correcting after the fact.

Ugh. I think that has happened to us. They said we were given a different membership ID. Our contract closed on feb 18.

Sorry to bust in on this thread, but do you have any advice? I'm worried they may have included a middle initial, or not, and now we have two different logins

I would call member administration and on bended knee share with them your concerns. Ask if they can help you verify that old and the new contract(s) will be under the same member account.

Good luck

Thank you thank you!!

Bc of the above post, I called member admin.... Yet again. Finally someone after 5 calls was able and willing to look into it. Apparently there was a snafu bc of our middle initials.

The guy who took the call, Kevin, said they'll fix it!

5 calls and 2 hrs later!! But it's not definite yet... I'm still hopeful!

Good thing you fixed it now, much easier when your contracts are all under one membership.

It's been fixed! Thank you!! Just call and call multiple ppl. If one isn't helpful keep trying.

They said all my points should appear in 2 days. The other acct was created in February. Thanks again, so happy.
