My wife and I are thrilled to be taking our twin 2 year old boys to Disney World for the first time. They are super excited to finally meet Mike and Sully in person (just had a Monsters Inc 2nd birthday). We have booked plenty of character meals for them so we can have a relaxed meet and greet. I do have a concern about the rides. Since they are still little dudes will they ride in our laps or just sit beside us? They are very good about sitting down, so climbing around really isn't an issue. Rides like Buzz, Toy Story and Pirates have specifically caught my attention. Any advice or help would definitely be appreciated.

Hi! My daughter is 2 and she rides on my lap on all of the above (Buzz and Toy Story she cannot reach the laser guns unless she is on my lap, and pirates has the drop)...she sits alone on most everything else that she can ride. Have fun!!!

Hi, similar question to the above. Do you happen to know if there is a specific height requirement on a ride, for example the 3D Mine train has a height requirement of 40", would my 2 year old be able to ride on my lap for that? Is the height requirement for solo riders?

The height requirement is for all riders. Some rides have one height requirement to ride, then one to ride alone, but that is generally for older children. Lap children can only ride on rides that have no height requirement.

The only ride that I know of that lets little people ride even if they are too short is the Tomorrowland Speedway (if they are too short they can't press the pedal so they can only be a passenger, they can't drive). Everything else with a height requirement (to the best of my memory) is a hard stop. If they are too short they can't ride. I have heard they can't even wait in line but we've never tried to wait in line with someone too little to ride (they stay with Grandma).

ETA: The things you listed, Pirates, Buzz, etc... they can ride next to you or in your lap. If you put them on the seat in a boat put them on the inside (they can still see just fine). I've taken both of my kids at 9 months and they rode Dumbo, Pirates, Small World etc...
