McDonald's across from DTD?

Is there still a McDonald's across the street from DTD? If so, is it difficult to get to with all the construction going on? We are arriving at MCO at 8:30. By the time we get our bags I think all the restaurants in the airport will be closed and by the time we make it to OKW, I think the CS place there will be closed.

If you're thinking of the one 'at' downtown Disney its been gone for a while

There is no McDonald's at or across from DTD. The only McDonalds on property is the one near the All Star resorts. As noted, there is one off-property at Crossroads near the DTD area offsite hotels. It is not exactly across from DTD, it is about a mile away.

Looks like "Good's Food To Go" at OKW serves till 10pm. With people arriving/departing at all hours you'd think there'd be something on property that serves past 10pm.

There looked like some construction at the intersection where you would cross from DTD towards the DTD hotels in November if I am remembering correctly.

If you are talking about driving from OKW to the Crossroads McD - you would be driving the length past DTD and Hotel Plaza Blvd.....
the traffic in front of DTD can be terrible particularly at night and weekends. Your best bet is when you exit OKW turn right on Disney Vacation Club Way then right on Buena Vista Drive. This will take you to your left on Hotel Plaza Blvd bypassing the length in front of DTD.

I would ideally like to stop somewhere on my way to OKW from MCO.

You could get off I-4 on to 535 taking the right. The Crossroads (where that McD and many other restaurants are) will be just ahead on your right. Then take the same path in reverse to OKW.

If you take 417 to Disney from MCO there is a steak and shake and chick fil a right off the Orange Blossom Trail exit you could swing thru there easily. DTD area is a mess, I would avoid it.

The Dis Unplugged podcast just did a review of OKW and one of their negatives was the lack of food options here. So they agree with you (as do I!).

OP, another thread about a similar situation recommended pizza delivery. Domino's will deliver that late, though you may need to meet them in the lobby to pick it up. Pizza places aren't permitted to come straight to your room door.

Is this a new policy? I know this applies when staying in a 'contained' hotel (such as the Boardwalk or Beach Club), but whenever I have stayed in a resort with individual, spread-out buildings (such as Old Key West), they delivered right to the door.

It's not a new policy. Disney "rules" say that third party vendors can't come on property, but how many of the delivery people know this and abide by this, and how well Disney enforces it is another story all together.

This is also the reason they tell you not to trust the food flyers that come under your door at values and mods - they are scams. Reputable delivery places know they aren't allowed on the grounds, and the scammers know this too so they know they'll be the only flyers under your door. Guests who don't know any better order from them and ultimately have CC info stolen.

Interesting. Well I hope someone lets Giordano's know that they are breaking the "rules" and are not reputable. FWIW, I've never received a flyer under my door, and only ordered from Giordano's, and have never had any issues, either with delivery to my room (at SSR, POP, etc) or with my credit card info being stolen.

Giordano's isn't one of the places I was talking about that does the flyer thing. The flyers are usually fake places. I received two different ones last time I was at CSR. It was even talked about on the Today show. So, you wouldn't have had an opportunity to have your CC info stolen because you used a real place....

Giordano's is very reputable. If they delivered straight to your door, they aren't supposed to, but as I mentioned above Disney doesn't really police that and it's very possible the delivery guy didn't even know that.

You didn't need to be sarcastic and nasty. Not nice

That's a great option. We don't have either chain up here so either would at least be novel.
