One of my cats went to Rainbow's Bridge today and I am sad. She wasn't sick or anything, the only thing was she didn't eat her wet food last night. I thought nothing of it because sometimes that happens I saw her this morning and played with her a bit and then I went out. When I came home and went to feed the other pets she didn't come out. I went looking for her and she was dead under the laundry sink in the basement. I have had her for 11 years since she was 9 months old. I have a few pictures of her

In the last photo she is with shadow, he was the reason I adopted her , he was 4 months old and had no one to play with as my 2 other cats at the time were older and didn't want to play with a kitten. 3 weeks ago Shadow was very sick and I thought I was going to lose him but he is fine now .. I miss her .

Very sorry to hear this about your Puddin, Tozzie. That first photo is so nice, what a look!!

She's there at the Rainbow for sure, Tozzie, you know it, we know it.'s

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.

Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm so sorry. What a beautiful cat! Love the last shot with Puddin and Shadow together.

I did get a chuckle out of the one in the Christmas tree. We had one many years ago who climbed the tree all the time. It's family folklore now.

I'm sure you're already giving Shadow lots of extra love.

Having lost 2 of my own furbabies within the last month (one only a week ago today), I know your heart is breaking over the loss of Puddin. Know that she's running free on the Rainbow Bridge (as so thoughtfully posted by Dan Murphy), with the rest of our pets. They will guide her on her way. Once you get past the heartbreak, may good memories of her replace the sad ones. You loved her for all of her life, as she loved you, and she took that with her when she went. Hugs to you and your family, and a special prayer said for Puddin --and my little girls up there with her.

I'm so sorry, Tara. I know Puddin was well loved and it sounds like she went quickly and didn't suffer.

If she wasn't sick or anything, I would want to know why she died. What if she got into something that the other cats could get into? An 11 year old cat that isn't sick doesn't just die for no reason.

It's always possible something was going on that the OP had no idea about. We lost one in the fall who was only 7 years old. We came about 1 day from having him just pass on with us never knowing anything was even wrong. They can't tell us when they're feeling "off" so sometimes we just don't know.

Thank you everyone, I am really sad and miss her terribly she was very funny if she thought one of the othter cats or the puppy was going to attack she gave a pre emptive stike and as she was passing she gave a oen two punch with both her paws . It was amusing to watch. To answer a few questions no she couldnt have gotten into anything my house is secured better than a child proofed house, and shadow had a bladder infection and the reason he looks like death when he is sick is that he is so tiny, only 7 pounds full grown, when he doesn't eat or drink for a day he gets dehydrated and loses 2 pounds.

I can't find out why she died but I do have an appointment with the vet on friday for the other cats to make sure they are all healthy.

A friend of mine, who does cat rescue work, put it in perpective for me, he said that sometimes it happens and something may have happend that could not be forseen, kind of like when a young person dies and it turns out they had a issue that was only found during an autopsy. I know all those years ago when she was found she had been attacked by and had a huge gash in he neck and I do know she lived the life of a queen while I had her and I find some comfort in that.

I am having her creamated with the ashes returned to me.

I will always remember her as the reason I don't put ornaments on the Christmas Tree.
Her picture is now my avatar

I can tell from that angle of that photo she was way up there! :)

I like your idea of taking your other cats for a check-up. I hope that gives you some peace of mind.

It's so hard when we lose them. But our lives are so much richer for having known them.
