Dis Big Give???

I am not sure which board to post this on.

Is the Dis Big Give not functioning anymore? I went to the website and no new post in a long time. I was hoping to find one to contribute.

The Gives are posted through a Facebook group now. Just search Facebook for Dis Big Give and ask to be added to the group.

I sent a request that still says pending over a week later.
Is the group not very active?
I am really hoping I can contribute now that I know how to use my sewing/embroidery machine better.

scrapbooksellman - Did you check your Message (and maybe your Other folder there) to see if there was anything there? I know when I requested to join, they first sent me a message there to confirm who I was because my facebook name wasn't the same as the name I used on the old website they used.

If there isn't a message there, feel free to PM me with your info and I'll contact the admins to request that they add.

You guys are so awesome! We leave for my son's wish trip next Friday, the kids find out everything this Sunday! So exciting, I think I am more excited because I know how special it will be, lol.

The Dis Big Give group is not as active as it used to be. We are a group of men and women who helps to bring extra magic to families going on wish trips by making and sending custom clothes, autograph books and other pixie dust for their trip.

There is some information on the first post of the Disboutiquers thread in the Disney for Families section on the DIS Boards. You will need to scroll down that post quite a ways to find the info. Recently, the group admins have been trying to only choose Wish families who are friends of someone in the Big Give group. This means that mostly non-Diser families are being chosen for Gives so we aren't seeing as many Wish PTR's here with Big Give activity and overall there are fewer Gives taking place.

No. I have requested to join the FB group twice.......and nothing. I check on status often. Usually FB says "pending", then there will be "join group". I have checked for messages......nothing. I will try again.

Flora, thanks for bringing this to my attention. When I approve people for the Big Give board, I check to see if they are friends with any current members. So, unless I get a notice to look out for someone, I don't approve them. You are all set to go now though. Deborah.

WE leave for our wish trip in a month is there anyone who sells custom made shirts on etsy or anyplace like that.I have seen some really cute ones on trip reports

The facebook group is likely the best place to ask that question. I don't think as many of the group are as active in this forum as they used to be.

There are TONS of shops on Etsy where you can buy custom shirts. You are probably running out of time for a lot of the shops though, a month isn't much time for custom items.
