I've been following this thread for over a year trying to prepare for our trip in September (was going to be Sept 2014, but we had a baby). Any who, I wanna be close to the Old Port Royale but my sis doesn't want to pay for a preferred room. Am I better of requesting Aruba 51 or Jamaica 45 or is the walk across the island farther than being in Martinique 21, 22 or 23?

Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are the same distance as Martinique 22 but they are actually a little closer than 21 and 23. But not by much.

We've stayed at the Caribbean Beach several times and loved it, but with my mom joining the fun this time, we decided to give the AoA suites a try. We're excited, but I've got to say that I'm a little heart-broken to be missing out on those amazing guava turnovers from the Grab and Go area. Are they still being served? I'm an early riser--is it crazy to think about jumping in the car and zipping over one morning for a treat?

You are going to love AoA! I'm staying at CBR this May, stayed at AoA (LM) last may. I would have booked that resort again but received a Pin Code for a mod discount I couldn't refuse

I
We will be there the same week the 4th to the 13th. This will be our first trip to CBR but I'm excited to try a new resort. Have a great trip!

I will be there May 6-13th, first time CBR but 10th trip. I really never thought I wanted to stay at CBR (love POR, CSR) but need something different for what may be my last trip to WDW!

We're looking at Nov 14-21st. It's me, my DH, my 7 and 3 year old sons. And, my mom is coming this trip! Can't wait for her to see my boys at their favorite place :) I've always wanted to stay here, but never have. Did POR last trip (with free dining in fall 2013) it was OK. Every other trip was a Pop trip, except one big family trip 15+ years ago when my parents and my siblings and I stayed at the Cabins. Excited to learn more about this resort. And, like many others...hope for free dining this fall. We're going regardless, but with 5 people it works out in our favor (based on the way we eat even if we don't have free dining)!

So I was looking online for 2 adults and 1 child and it won't allow me to book a king room (says over occupancy). Does that mean there are no king rooms with a pull down bed? I thought during the refurb those were added!

Pull downs were not added to all rooms, from what I understand.

I hope you enjoy CBR as much as we always have! The new rooms look great!

I have a couple questions about Grocery deliver. Where would we pick up groceries delivered by Garden Grocer at CBR? I was told we don't need to be there when they arrive and they store them but wasn't sure where we'll need to go and get them.

Also anyone ever share/split grocery orders with other guests? For some of the things I'm looking at the unit price is so high for smaller sizes, but then the bulk (ie case of water, case of snack size chips, etc.) is more than we need. I don't want to end up tossing out a bunch of food at the end of our trip if I can avoid it, but paying more for less also seems silly. I know I've seen other threads where people mention they are leaving and offer things up but not sure if anyone ever really takes them up on the offer or not.

If your grocery order arrives when you're not there Bell Services will store your stuff. They will even keep any perishables refrigerated. Then when you get to your room call Bell Services and they will bring you your order.

Are there rooms in the preferred sections that have the pull down bed? I was trying to check rates and it looks like the preferred rooms only sleep up to 4 (as far as booking categories). Standard view and pool view look like they have the option for a room with the pull down. I was really wanting to be in a preferred room if I booked here, but need the pull down. Thanks

Also…I thought they had queen beds now at CBR. Are they doubles? That is what it is saying on the booking page.

Pirate rooms are still doubles. All other rooms are in the process of getting queens. (except perhaps King rooms if they have them here)

I probably just missed this somewhere but are all the rooms expected to be done with updates by say late August? Going to be there for 2 weeks and really hate the thought of double beds, LOL.

You have two choices. You can either stop at Bell Services when you arrive and pick up your groceries or you can go to your room and then call Bell Services and have them deliver it to your room.

I've split an order with guests who were traveling with us but never with guests that weren't.

If they keep moving at the current pace, they should be done by the time the permits run out which is in May, 2015.

From what has been reported, the work in the Martinique preferred buildings is done or almost complete. Hopefully, someone who has stayed in one of those buildings recently can answer your question.

Hello. Well we just returned from a 10-day stay at Caribbean Beach Resort (Feb. 14th - 24th) and I have to say, this was, by far, our BEST resort stay in the past four years. We have stayed here before, but we have also tried Coronado, POR, POFQ, and my whole family kept saying how much we LOVE the Caribbean Beach resort. For some reason, our first stay there in 2000, we were out in Jamaica 44, and, per our request, we have been placed back in that building on each of our returns. I LOVE the Jamaica section. From our front door of our room to the front door of Old Port Royale, it was exactly a 9 minute walk, and a beautiful walk at that. A stroll across Caribbean Cay (the small island at the resort) with the music playing is a great walk even after a long day at the parks. Some nights, we would get off at Old Port Royale and walk over just to enjoy the walk. The grounds were beautiful. The new rooms are amazing. Our services, from bus to maid-service, were stellar. Our maids would always have the room clean, leave towel animals (left a Sting Ray in the bathtub one day...very cool) and would regularly leave us extras of everything. The room was always spotless and they cleaned, top to bottom, all 10 days! We never waited more than ten minutes for a bus...ever...during those ten days. Coming back from the parks the service was good as well. The only thing that I would say is that they do pack the busses at night if you stay to park closing, so be ready for that. The food court is such a cool place to hang out...with good food. The store now has Caribbean Beach specific merchandise (as I sit here sipping out of my newly acquired CB coffee mug) and we got the refillable mugs and used them quite a bit. There were a couple of chilly days, so my daughter really liked the hot chocolate! My wife and daughter would hang at the pools in the afternoon and I would nap. They loved both the main pool and our quiet pool at Jamaica. We had a pool-view, first floor room, and it was never loud. In fact, you could go swimming whenever you wanted. It was great. I cannot say enough great things about this resort. In fact, it really was the highlight of our trip. While the parks have definitely seen their better days, the CB resort continues to impress.

If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer what I can.

Welcome home! I'm so glad to hear that you had another great stay at the CBR. I can hardly wait until we are back there again because I agree with you on saying that the resort is a highlight of our trips.
