Pre-ordering tickets online - actual tickets upon collection?

Hi all,

We are visiting TDL for the first time in a few weeks - very excited!

I was going to pre-order the tickets for pick up at the ticket center (I understand you pay for them upon pick up, not online) and just wanted to check that they are actual park tickets they give to you?

I didn't want the print at home type as I wanted them as a souvenir afterwards. If we do decide to buy them in the Tokyo Disney store, are they actual park tickets there or exchange at the TDL ticket centre?

Thanks for your help all :)

I can't really help regarding picking tickets up while you're there but right now we're looking at maybe using a forwarding address to get ours (originally because you need a JP address for Naruto Exhibition tickets - but I really would prefer proper Disney tickets for the same reason you want them!) and it looks like it'll cost around an extra £10 delivery or so to get them posted out to the UK. Although it might be a little late for you to use this option.

Where are you looking at preordering your tickets for pick up - the TDR site? I hadn't noticed a pick up option so i'm going to go have a look at that. Let me know if you manage to get actual tickets ^_^

I went in August and opted for the print-at-home tickets before I left. Since I also wanted "actual" tickets for souvenir purposes, I went to Guest Relations outside TDL before entering and asked to exchange...which was no trouble. I happily paid either 200 or 300 yen (don't remember which) for the exchange.

Could you pre-order and have them shipped to your hotel? I pre-ordered tix and had them sent to my Japanese address for a small fee. I received actual tickets, not vouchers to exchange. I think they need like a week notice to have them shipped to a Japanese address.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I will have a think about it and either see about getting them shipped to the Sheraton Grande which is where we are staying for the TDL portion of our trip or exchange them as mesaboy suggested. The ticket costs are going up on the 1st April so will cost us another £60 to have them for souvenir purposes but well worth it I think :)

I don't know if this would work if you get tickets delivered after April 1st. The tickets I prepurchased are for use starting April 6th, but because I ordered and paid via credit card already, they gave me the old price. I did have to enter use dates for my tickets and select parks (three day passes) so they know when I'm coming and still honored the pre increase price. I was able to select the date of delivery which might be helpful when coordinating to a hotel.

Good luck!

Thank you tinibee - I like that you can select the day of delivery! I will try that then :)

What hotel are you staying in?

I hope the tickets work out for you. You will have to post a follow up and let us know what happens.

I live in Japan, but will be staying in Tokyo at the New Sanno Hotel for our TDR trip with visiting family. We had reservations at the MyStays Maihama for a while, which looked promising, but we we are squeezing in some other sightseeing in Tokyo so switched to the New Sanno in the Hiroo area as it was cheaper for us. We have a car which makes it a little easier/cheaper to stay further away from convenient train lines to the parks, but we will get stuck with the new higher priced parking - boo!
