Anyone got a tax refund this year yet?

Have you tried calling? Were they able to give you any further info? Nothing here but I can't call until Tuesday to hopefully get some insight into the delay.

We had a message on our VM the other day that we were one of the (un)lucky ones to get the wrong healthcare.gov paperwork- or at least Column B had the wrong numbers. So we have to wait for the updated paperwork. They said they'd notify us on the website BUT we've never been able to login. Ever. They can't seem to fix that problem either. Now we have to call them and see if they'll email us or if the paperwork will come in the mail and then amend our return. This sucks.

That totally blows. We didn't get any paperwork for that (we didn't buy on the exchange last year) so I have no idea what our hold up is. I hope they can get you the paperwork soon but at least you know the issue now.

You're right. I meant to say it was accepted last night. Today WMR shows received.

Oh got it. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme and reason behind everyone's direct deposit date. Typically, you can expect it 10-14 days later. I believe you can call after 3 weeks.

I had the same issue and was told the same thing. I am at DAY 40. :sad2:

This is bizarre.

We leave for a week stay at POFQ in 13 days and would love to take a little extra cash with us. :woohoo:
Oh my gosh!!! I would be furious. Why?! Have you called and found out anything? We're waiting for ours to schedule our cats surgery (nothing life threatening or urgent) so I hope I can get an update about it next week.

My return was accepted on February 8. I got my State refund yesterday and should get the Federal refund by next Wednesday. Maybe, having Obamacare slows up the return.

Filed on 2/12 just received the check today 2/28 and yes, we did get a check not a direct deposit. That was from the Feds nothing from State yet.

Files yesterday with direct deposit, no Obamacare, and our tax preparer told us to expect it in about two weeks at this point.

Gosh for those that bash the people who give the government an "interest free loan" the question I have for you is, why do you even care? It has no effect on you. Guess you hate the fact that my "I interest free loan" to the government is way more than the average. Roughly two- three times the average. I also do NOT get EIC

Filed on the 18th. Federal was deposited on the 27th. :teeth: Still waiting on state. According to the DOR website it will be another FOUR weeks before it is even processed never mind us getting our refund:sad2:

Still have to file oldest DS' taxes. He had over $10,000 in 529 and MEFA disbursements from college funds set up by his grandparents and Turbo Tax is saying he has to pay $300+ in income tax on these funds. I've got to do a paper return for him and have one of the CPAs in my office review. According to them he shouldn't owe the IRS any money. Such a pain.

Well I guess I've finally gotten an answer as to why ours is taking so long. I called the identity fraud number again today and she said there's a marker on my husband's account (no idea why) and that they'll screen his returns for three years from last year I think? But we got our return quickly last year. She said it could take 6-8 weeks from sometime in Feb so that puts us at early April for 8. I'm really hoping it's closer to the 6. While I'm glad they're looking out for us in case anyone is trying to do something sketchy but this is totally sucks. I'm afraid I'll call back in April and it'll be another 6-8 weeks.. ugh!

Has anyone received an Illinois tax refund yet? We filed Feb 2 and my daughter filed Feb 12, we both have received our federal but our state ones both say they have been received but not processed.

IL just started accepting tax returns from individual filers on their website a short time ago so that may be part of the problem. Before that they were accepting them from professionals and tax software but may not have been able to process them right away.

There's also the chance our refunds are delayed because the state has no money.

This is the first time ours is taking so long too, so I'm wondering if it has to do with the healthcare also. Do you have a number that you can call and actually talk to someone? I've been trying to call but only get recordings saying ours is being prosessed. It was accepted the Feb 3rd. Thanks, Candy

Like that 12 cents interest would make a difference in my budget!

Anybody from MS filed yet ? If so how long did it take to get refund? Got a call from my tax preparer today that mine is ready to be signed for so going in the morning to sign. They file electronically. This will be my 1st time to do DD. We have always gotten checks mailed. Hoping doing the DD doesn't slow things up doing it different this year.

I don't think most people have any clue they are giving the government an interest free loan.

I know it. I just don't care. Sure I could put the money in a savings account; however, this way it can't be touched for an entire year. Works for us. It is how we go to disney and stay debt free :)

When interest rates were over 10% it meant more but with interest rates at 0.1% in some cases even over-withholding $100 every week adds up to only $135 over the course of the year. If you end up under-withholding (we did this year because of a big dividend issued to us in March of last year) you can end up paying 3% penalty interest.
