Saratoga or OKW with small children?

Have a current 2 BR reservation at AK Kidani, Savannah view in June. Unfortunately one day right in the middle of the week isn't available. We need to switch. All that was available was 2 studios for the one night and then we go back to the 2 BR. Not sure if the waitlist will come through for the one day.
Thinking that this will be too much moving around.
We want to keep the first 4 days at AKL because the water park area near Kidani will be perfect for the grandkids (all under 5). Between SSR and OKW, which has the best water play area for kids? Both resorts have availability for the last 3 days of our vacation. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Should we hold out for the 1 day on waitlist or just switch for the last days? Thanks!

No elevators, with little ones in strollers, is FAR more difficult than a split up stay for one night. I'd keep as much Kidani as possible.

I really am hoping for the waitlist. I still have time but am so impatient! This is the first trip for the grandkids and I want things to go as smoothly as possible!

Saratoga has nice water play areas. I would go there for the last 3 nights.

Checked out information on the Paddock area. Sounds good but will hold out a little longer for the waitlist at AK to come through. Perhaps now that the Poly will come available, things might begin to shift in our favor!

I'm a fan of SSR, and I would choose it over OKW. I like being able to walk around the resort, and I don't feel that's a good option at OKW. I don't like the pathways they have and if your not near the HH....ugh. I don't dislike OKW, I just prefer everywhere else I've stayed over it. The room size is not a seller for us. We prefer the sofa beds in the studios as we like haveing the sofa during the day. I like the paddock AND Springs pool. Also, if you have a TiW card....you can use at the the Artist palate at SSR. QS meals get the TiW discount with no gratuity added.

I think that if the waitlist doesn't come through we will try for SSR. If we are assigned an upper floor, are there elevators to get to the upper floors or do we have to cart the stroller up the stairs?

UGH! Your review is making me question our OKW choice.... I thought perhaps the extra room and 2 real beds in the studio would be worth it. Now I'm wondering if I should just suck it up and get a 1 bedroom at SSR! :headache:

All SSR buildings have elevators - I believe only 1 elevator per building. Only a few buildings at OKW have elevators.

It really depends what you are looking for. My family loves OKW! In fact it is one of DS12 top 3 resorts.

Sorry.... I was just giving my opinion. And opinions are like buttholes.....everyone has one.

There are many OKW lovers out there. I don't dislike it....I just prefer SSR over it.

Be sure to check the DVC site as well for your wait-listed day. Many times it will pop up there before the wait-list run catches it

Another vote for SS here. My kids were 3 and 5 and really enjoyed the pool area. We requested Congress Park so we could walk easily to DTD (kids love building cars at the Lego store) and my kids loved the view of DTD with the giant hot air balloon.
