First trip - Can you share your one favorite tip for a great trip?

Could someone compare a ride at Disney that would be a "dramamine" ride.

Also while I have had some type of dramamine before which would be the least drowsy and is this more of a "we are getting older tip" or should I encourage the 20 and 22 year olds to also use it. Is it once a day? Thanks for all the tips.

Getting excited it has come up very quickly and I feel totally unprepared.
I prefer Bonine over Dramamine. I take one pill for all day. I am not drowsy and I don't get motion sickness. I can enjoy my day. My dh took 2 once and it knocked him out for the day.

Rent a scooter. We rent one for my husband, who has mobility issues. He was too proud on our first trip to Orlando to rent one. He wore himself out on the first day and spent most of the trip at the hotel pool.

I don't do well driving a scooter. Does Universal rent wheelchairs and are they expensive? Also is it as hilly as Disney. I am so torn about even getting a disability card. We are doing a very laid-back trip and if I don't get on rides I won't be upset. I am getting a bit nervous as the weather seems to be getting better and sunnier and I am not suppose to be in the sun for long due to an auto-immune and meds I take.

Just pulled out the big puffy hats. Hope they are allowed. Thank you for all the help. I am eternally grateful and excited about our first trip. Hoping to enjoy it and then my husband and I can do split vacations every couple of years. No children to worry about. Walk hand in hand and just be grateful for the opportunity.

Sounds like you have a very good attitude towards your trip and expectations. Don't worry about being unprepared for it.......the beauty of Universal is you don't really need a plan, especially a military like one!!! Take time to enjoy the parks for what they are and enjoy how beautiful they are, sounds like you have that in hand already though :thumbsup2

I'm sure you'll have an amazing time there......there's plenty of places to get some breaks from the sun too when you need that.

Hope you have a blast :)

I'm not sure what you meant by "puffy" hats, but as someone who has already had a couple of basal cell cancers removed, I always take brimmed hats to theme parks. I have never had any issues with them.

And if I recall correctly, a lot of the queues at USO are inside or covered, which makes a huge difference for those of us who need to limit sun exposure.

If you have problems staying in the sun, my suggestion is an umbrella or parisol. You wont be the only one with one, trust me. It's a lifesaver. I have similar medical problems that keep me to the wheel chair and from doing well in heat. As for the terrain, there IOA side does have some hills, but they arent killer, and the other park is pretty flat. I didnt get the disabilities pass, but really, I didnt need it.
The only thing we had a problem with is that you couldnt do the single rider line for transformers in the wheelchair and it was about an hour shorter line to hoof it. lol.
