Polar Patios at Blizzard Beach

I am looking for some experiences on how the capacity is managed at a polar patio. I have 6 adults and 4 kids and I have read that the capacity is 6. If part of the party is out on rides and only checking in periodically and using that patio as a home base are they allowed access and still count in the headcount. I realize the towels, water and mugs would only be for 6 which is fine. I just don't want to be frowned upon if I end up with more than 6 at times lounging around. Any experience or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

6 adults and 4 kids is going to be pretty tight for the patio if they're all there at one but, aside from the 6 towels, mugs, etc; i don't think Disney cares.

Also note that locker at the patio is pretty small. I had a family of 4 there (all adults) and we barely got 2 purses, DSLR camera, wallets and cell phones to fit in there.

I don't think the attendant would be able to ignore visitors in the patio area that do not have the special bands. The towels & water bottles are replenished as needed, and there is no way to regulate who would be using them if you're letting in more than 6. If you want to stuff extra wallets into your [shoe box size] safe, that's probably not a problem. But actually having more than 6 people coming & going would be a problem. Our attendants made it a point to get to know all of us, and throughout the day they would ask people who were not part of our group (or the group next to us) to vacate the reserved area.

We had 7 adults and 3 children at our polar patio. We did have to pay a small additional fee for the additional guests. I cannot recall off the top of my head what it was. In terms of space, we fit very comfortably, and very much enjoyed the experience. We were not able to add the additional guests at the time of booking, but had not problem in adding them the day of our reservation right at the check-in counter.

We had eight people, but we paid the additional fee for the extra two. And, unlike the pp, the extra fee was charged at the time of booking. It was either an extra $50 pp or $50 total for the extra two, I don't remember which...
