Deals on LEGOLAND Hotel?

Does anyone know where I can find any deals on the Legoland Hotel? The site is quoting $400 a night! Surely there are ways to get a better price on a room. Thanks!

I was just researching it a month ago, and really I couldn't find any deals. I did figure out that their package - tickets and hotel was a better deal then booking individually. The tickets are the park hopper tickets for two days, covers legoland, aquarium, and water park. There are hotels pretty close by that look like they would be an easy enough walk and they were cheaper.

As best as I could find, Legoland doesn't really run deals much and I couldn't find much difference on prices on hotel finder sites.

If you are just doing the hotel, I think they do have a somewhat discounted price if you are willing to pay it all upfront.

The prices yesterday were suddenly lower than what I originally booked my dates for a couple of months ago--plus, now they are running a AAA special that they weren't before, so I cancelled and rebooked at about $65 less one night and $100 less on the other. (Before, the lowest price I could get was $355/night.) You might check back on the website for your dates, too. (Ours are in April.)

Interesting, I'll look into that... I don't see the AAA special on their site though, is it only through AAA?

Also looking for a discount on tix or hotel and can't find any :-( I priced out our trip on Getaway today and it was only around $20 cheaper

I just went back to the site and a brand new AAA discount (deeper than the one I previously had) was offered. I adjusted my reservation online and saved over $100 total over the two days--it was now $212 per night plus resort fee. I have a feeling that the amount of the discount and the offering of it depends on the dates you pick. For instance, when I initially booked (that time was over the phone, but the subsequent rebookings for the discounts have been online), the reservation person said that no AAA discount was being given at that time because it was spring break, etc. (Our reservations are for the nights of 4/12 and 4/13.) But my guess is that those rooms didn't move as quickly as expected, as the overall rate for them is dropping, PLUS the AAA discount was added and then increased. All of which is to say that it might be worth booking at whatever the price is now and then continually checking back to see if the rate is discounted, etc.

I hope your dates get discounted too!

How did you go about changing? Did you cancel previous reservations and rebook, or did they adjust your current reservation?

The first time, I believe I cancelled and then rebooked. (I booked on line that time.) But when I rebooked yesterday, I just clicked on the confirmation number on the confirmation email, which brought me back to the Legoland site, where I could then click "modify reservation." The new 12%-off AAA rate was there (with a click button next to it) on the upper left, along with the rate I already had and the new regular rate (which was *still* lower, I believe, than the one at which I had last reserved). All I had to do was click the button and resubmit my credit card info, and it was done. New confirmation email sent, with a price about $115 lower than the last one.

I know it's a pain to keep rechecking, but I do this with, for instance, Southwest Airlines reservations, too, since when the rates go down you can easily get the new rate and then get SW credit (which needs to be used within a year) for the difference between the two rates. We fly SW enough--to DL, San Diego--and even, this summer, to the East Coast--to make it worth banking the credit.

Good to know I can get a reservation adjusted to a lower rate if it does come out. I am a planner by nature and always looking for the lowest rate! Thanks :-)

Just to through this out there, but try to compare prices with the Sheraton Carlsbad. The hotel is adjacent to Legoland and guest can get in through a back entrance which is a only 5 min walk away. It is a Starwood property, so they should have AAA discounts or if you have points with them you could get free nights. The hotel is quite nice, but of course won't have the Lego theme throughout.

We just did Legoland Hotel in April and we really loved it and thought it was worth the cost. It was so nice to have each of the three kids have their own beds and since Legoland closes so early (6pm) the kids really took advantage of the evening activities at the hotel. My 2 yr old loved the dance elevators and kept dragging me to them going "more more more!". Overall, it was just really fun and enjoyable.
