Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

If we do online check in, and we have carry on bags that we had on our flight, do we take Magic Express to POP, and then what do we do with our carry ons? Will they hold them someplace so we can go to DTD? If we need to go to POP, and talk to someone about holding the carry ons, does it even make sense to use the ME service where they get your suitcases? I'm trying to figure out the fastest way to go to POP and right to DTD.

Are you arriving earlier then 3:00 so your room wouldn't be ready? If so bell services would hold you bags for you I believe. Not sure what you're asking about Magic Express though..... but yes, ME only goes to the hotels so you'd have to go to POP first.

Hi,
This is such a basic newbie question. I browsed a few FAQs. but it's so basic I didn't see the answer:
Q: Do you need a park ticket to stay at a Disney Resort? I don't need to know about each one but I was particularly interested in these POP/All-Star/Movie Resorts. If you can book them on Expedia, can you just checkin and stay at the hotel and use the pool and stuff without a park ticket? TIA.

Yes, you can do a room only reservation.

You DO NOT need a park ticket to stay at Disney resorts

That is great news. Thanks for your reply.

I'm looking at a deal through jetBlue. They currently have a promo code WDW150 for $150 off a Getaways flight/hotel combo for certain Disney hotels.
Whenever they have a fixed coupon code like that, I can find unusual deals for short trips. For Example:

After coupon $178 airfaire and 1 night at Disneys All Star Sports Resort all included
  • JFK ->MCO Tue, 3/17/2015 ·Take Off 6:00 am, Tue - 3/17/2015
  • New York, NY
  • Landing 8:45 am, Tue - 3/17/2015
  • Orlando, FL
  • MCO -> JFK Wed - 3/18/2015 Take Off 9:49 pm, Wed - 3/18/2015
  • Orlando, FL
  • Landing 12:13 am, Thu - 3/19/2015
  • New York, NY
  • Disneys All Star Sports Resort
So, you get to Orlando Tuesday morning at 9 am, hotel included Tuesday night, then all day Wednesday returning at 9 pm.

I can think of worse ways to blow $178 dollars.

You do not need a park ticket to stay on site. Everybody is welcome!

You don't need a park ticket at all! Yu also don't need it for downtown disney or visiting any of the resorts as well as using monorails and busses to do so :)

Does anyone know if pop does anything fun on Halloween?i think we will do the party at MK but beat the resort all day relaxing, as we fly in at 10:30 the night before

Has anyone had their room requests gone through recently? I just booked a trip March 27 through April 3 and I'd like to request a room in the 50s on the 1st or 2nd floor. Can anyone tell me what's the best way to do this or where other threads are where I might find the information? Thanks for all your help!

I've taken the plunge. I HATE online check in but I just did it anyway. Not really sure why...maybe because I really want a room in the 60's.

A little over a week to go and the forecast is looking gorgeous!!!!!

The best way to make room requests is to call the main reservation line and have them added to your reservation. You can do this anytime from the day you book up until 4-5 days prior to your arrival. They assign rooms 2-3 days prior.

Just got back from Pop. It was our first time. Would have loved to explore more, but we were there during the unseasonably cold weather during Presidents week. Didn't even get to use the pools :sad1:

Returning to Pop after several stays at some of the other resorts. Do all the rooms have coffee makers now? Are they the type that I can use just for hot water? Or, should I plan on getting hot water from the food court?

No they do not.

Good information. Thank you. Are there microwaves at the food court to heat the water?

Yes there are micros but you can get hot water from the beverage island. If you feel uncomfortable about it just ask the CM. They absolutely allow anyone to take hot water....people need it for all sorts of reasons, baby bottles, meds etc.

has anyone done online check in and received a text before you arrived?
we check in on Saturday...but will be at the Swan and Dolphin in the morning.
