So, I had an interesting discussion the other day about the proper way to sneeze. My friend, a doctor, said that when you sneeze, you should always sneeze into your arm at the elbow fold. I always sneeze into my hand.

What do YOU sneeze into?

Tissue/napkin should be the first aim. If not possible, anywhere above the hand on the arm is acceptable for sneeze blockage. I wouldn't sneeze into my hand unless I was able to go right to a sink.

We teach the kids in my preschool class to always cough or sneeze into their inner elbow. If you cover your mouth with your hand, the germs will be spread to everything you touch.

I'm sorry I have to ask, but what do you do if you can't wash your hand right away or if you have no sanitizer?

In my school also we teach the children to sneeze into their inner elbow. One time i saw one just about to sneeze and i called out "don't forget to sneeze into your mouth!" i meant to say elbow and the kids just laughed!

Always always into my elbow. I find it completely disgusting when people sneeze or cough into their hands. You touch everything with your hands.

Funny I saw this thread. My mom just got back from Florida Wednesday. She was at Epcot on Monday where someone sneezed right in front of her not covering at all!!!
I went to see her on Friday and she has a cold....wonder why?!!! Some people just have no clue!!

If I don't have a tissue, always, always, always into my elbow or sort of up around my shoulder. I can't imagine just sneezing into my hand - especially if I'm not able to go wash my hands directly afterwards.

I teach my kids to cough & sneeze into their elbows as well.

After you sneeze into your hand, think about everything you touch directly after you've sneezed! Ick!!

Always into my inner elbow. Or a tissue if I have it. My former boss, who had previously been a nurse, always just let her sneeze fly. Never covered her mouth at all. So gross. :crazy2:

I'm sure there have been occasions when I haven't had a tissue, but I can't remember one! My DH says if he ever has any money to invest in the stock market, he's going to buy Kimberly Clark - I use enough to allow them to declare a dividend every year. In the unforeseeable event I don't have a tissue, I'll use the crook of my arm.

In public, I sneeze into my outer lower arm a little above the wrist.

At home, I've been known to just let 'er rip wherever.
