Wine and Dine 2015

That's what I've read on here. I've never done it so I can't speak to it personally. I think the biggest issue is that there are a limited number of rooms that they offer at that discount, so you need to act quickly once the discount is announced and then hope that the resort and room type you have will be included. Like I said, I haven't ever done it myself, but from reading things on the Dis, that seems to be the process.

I talked to a Cast Member on the Disney World booking site and she said you have to book through runDisney to get the discount. She said you could book the room to hold it and then cancel and rebook with runDisney, but you can't apply the discount later. This is just what I was told when looking at rooms.

Does anyone know how much tickets for the Finish Line Party cost for guests? If we do go my DBF won't run, so he would need a ticket. I'm trying to decide if I would be too tired after the race to party so maybe we should do the Pre-race Taste party instead.

Sorry, I was actually talking about the military discount rather than a runDisney discount. Hoping that I can apply it later.

I did not have an annual pass last year but one of my friends did, it would not let her register anyone but herself. One of the many reasons I went from a seasonal pass holder to an Annual pass holder. Until you activate your annual pass and receive your card (which will have your account number on it) it unfortunately won't work. If you do find another way to register early let me know, if not good luck and make sure to register the minute registration opens :)
Thanks for that info. I don't want to cause any issues or look like I'm trying to cheat the system, so I'm just going to have to play it safe and wait for general registration to open. And hope that availability lasts for at least 20-30 minutes since I won't be able to be at the computer at the stroke of noon (well, 11 am my time). It might be 5-10 minutes after that. I just wish the registration process wasn't so stressful/uncertain.

On another note, and I know it was already brought up, but I hope the host resorts/prices are updated soon.

I THINK my DH and I are in for W&D this year!!!!! We were planning on '16, but he is retiring next summer from the military and thought we'd better tackle it now while we're assured vacation time and a steady income! So not in the plan, especially with a family trip in May, but we are going for it! I just ran the 5K and 10K PHM weekend, but this will be both of our first halves. (Although DH runs almost a half just for fun so he has an advantage over me.) We are hoping to convince one of our parents to come stay with the kids so we can have an adult weekend away. I am so excited that my first half will be at Disney, and that I have something to train for on the calendar. It keeps me motivated!

I was going to try for a studio at yacht & beach or boardwalk, but according to some of the threads I read on here there's nothing available.

I went ahead and just booked a room at Beach Club and keeping my fingers crossed for an extension of the military discount and that the room will qualify.

Does that work? You can book now, and then apply the discount? I didn't know that! :)

You can most definitely apply the military discount when it is released so long as there are rooms available. I've personally done this numerous times without any issues.

I'm hoping I'm dismissed from jury duty so I can actually sign up at noon on Tuesday! If not, I'll have to explain it to my husband.

Personally, if your DBF is like my DH, he will enjoy the finish line party more and even if you end up not going in after your race, DH has enjoyed being at Epcot each year while I run. In fact, sometimes I think he has a better time than I do! He has done everything from enjoyed rides, to sitting in the UK pub making new friends, and every year he still sees me when I run thru Epcot. Tell him to go and enjoy it! :)

Sorry! I missed that part. I thought you were talking about the runner discounted rooms.

Thanks for the advice! You're probably right. Even if I want to leave early, he would love hanging out in a pub for a bit. He's big on unique beers.

I have registered early, as a Seasonal Passholder, for many races, just a FYI for anyone who is a Seasonal Passholder. :)

I am wishing now that I'd just gotten an AP last year. :) We were at WDW for a week in December, and the trip was booked last summer, right around the time that I decided to run Tink in 2015. We just got regular passes, though, because I was not even thinking of doing C2C... and now here I am. :)

You never know how quickly things will sell out and it's a good idea to register as soon as it opens, but I suspect it will take at least a few hours to sell out. Last year went especially fast I think because it was an anniversary year. At least that's what I'm hoping. :) Regardless, I'm planning to be logged in right as registration opens.

I run with my husband all the time and he always slows down for me. He's a good man. Congrats on getting ready to run your first half! Thanks for confirmation on the military discount. Now I just have to hope rooms are available. I think Beach Club has been included previously, so I'm going to try and be watchful for when the extension of the discount is announced (please, please, please extend this, Disney) and then call right away.

I have a seasonal as well, and they get the same privileges as the full annual except for the free parking and the blackout dates.Everything else from discounts to pass holder previews to early Run Disney registration is the same.

I'm so excited...my parents have decided to come and watch hubby and I run the half (well, finish it anyway). This will be the first time we've ever had anyone at a race to support us. Hope they aren't too tired by the time we finish, but they'll be coming from AZ, so the time difference should be in their favor at least.

I really don't see any reason why they wouldn't extend it again, I don't know why they just don't go ahead and make it a permanent thing

He said he wants to run with me so I know he will slow down for me and do intervals with me. (I do the Galloway method, whereas he just runs straight out.) I'm trying to find a 10K or so for him to do to submit a time and then he can just drop back to my corral. I can submit my time from PHM, although I might run a 10K with him if we find a reasonably priced local one.

In theory, all the resorts are "included" in the military discount it's just a matter of whether or not there's availability for that weekend. I know Beach Club is our first choice as well.

We are getting seasonal passes as well. But we won't activate them till May so it won't help with registration for W&D.

I wish they would do the military discount by calendar year, instead of fiscal year. It would make it so much easier for planning/budgeting. Plus it would fall in line with their normal booking windows. I figure it will be announced around July/August, but expect it to be extended. I think we just might see a ticket price increase.

I am registering tomorrow and hoping to book AKL does anyone know if they have the expo buses and transport to the race

What is the crowds like for a MVMCP? is it worth it to even go? What do they offer anything that isn't offered on any other evening? (total WDW newbie here)

I say yes, worth it. It is very different than a regular park day. There are free (well, included) cookies and cocoa, additional shows, dance parties, unique characters, snow on main street, and a special parade and fireworks. It is just overall a very party/exciting vibe as opposed to a regular park day. Things are even lit up differently!

I'll be there! I'm super excited since I haven't done the Wine and Dine half before. Getting anxious and hoping early registration opens on Tuesday March 3rd! I think we're going to stay at Caribbean Beach, stayed at PO Riverside last weekend for the Princess half and the Bus transportation wasn't ideal for a run event.

I don't think the wine and dine host resorts have been announced yet. Because PHM was much larger all resorts were host resorts, but for wine and dine it is usually more like 2-3 choices per resort category I believe. But, Caribbean was a host resort in 2013 because I stayed. It is going to be the same set up, the run event buses will stop at all of the internal stops to pick up runners. I am waiting just because I'd hate to book a hotel and then find out it does not have the early AM busses. I'd think Caribbean beach and one of the boardwalk area resorts are likely to be included though. So you could at least walk across the boardwalk to one of them!
