Off the Beaten Path Romantic Tips

Hi all! I am looking for some off the beaten path romantic tips. Looking around online, I find a lot of the tips like "get a couples massage at Senses" or "watch Wishes together." But I'm looking for some more tips from you all! Any tips on great meals to share, spots to just relax at, etc.? We're looking forward to our honeymoon in April! Thank you!

I would say to get a couples meal at Victoria and Albert, but seeing as how you are past the 180 day ADR, that ship has almost definitely sailed.
I would say to find a lounge, like Mizners Lounge, and find a corner table and have a few drinks and just enjoy eachother's company. If you look up times for the piano or jazz players you can enjoy a bit of music while you are there.

Try to get an ADR at California Grill. It's on the top floor of the Contemporary. A late evening ADR would be ideal so you could watch fireworks while you eat, but if you eat there any time that night, you can return to watch Wishes from the roof. The views if MK are amazing! If you can't get an ADR, we've been successful with walk ups before-- as long as you're willing to wait.

Other romantic things:
Renting a small boat at DTD and touring the Sassagoula River
Segway tour
KTTK tour-- if you're a huge WDW fan
Dinner at Coral Reef Restaurant, San Angel Inn (ambiance), Restaurant Marrakesh (belly dancer)
Trying exotic drinks together in World Showcase
Renting surrey bikes on the Boardwalk
Invent a Disney tradition like a first ride for each trip
Hay ride in FW followed by watching Wishes from FW beach
Carriage ride
Kissing every time someone congratulates you because of your "just married" buttons
Skipping a park morning in favor of "room service"

There are still lots of times available in April for the main dining room. Especially if a late dinner is fine -- there are lots of 9pm reservations (and some earlier ones, depending on dates).

Thank you all! We did book dinner for California Grill, and we are doing KTTK! Someone actually just "purchased" that for us on our honeymoon tour. The kissing every time someone congratulates you is cute :) This is my fiance's first time staying at Disney so I think he's going to be amazed!

I def agree with Cali grill. We did that for our first anniversary and they surprised us with champagne and congrats on our desserts.

Our tradition is we pick out a new ornament together everywhere we go... Maybe get it customized at the xmas shop in disney springs.

Maybe a boat cruise of some sort?

We also find the wine cellar In Italy to be super romantic. Low lighting.. Wine. And couches u can sit on. We could hang out there and talk for hours.

Have fun!

Go to any shop or the front desk of your hotel and ask for celebration buttons. Wear them everywhere. Keep track of the number of people who congratulate you. Kiss every time they do. You'll feel so incredible as everyone just wants you to have the best honeymoon ever!

This will be the first trip for just my husband and I....not sure what we are going to talk about! we've ALWAYS had kids with us! how do we do this by ourselves thing? we've been married 35 years and really want to make this a special "our time" trip. All suggestions welcome.

To quote my parents, you take the time to relax! Theyve always included me on disney trips but now that i'm an adult they like to take time for themselves and i go do my own thing at times, they love to just lay around the resort and relax instead of having to go commando like when I was young. Also, my dad LOVES people watching in the parks, especially with a cool beverage or a snack in hand. He just feels like it's the best of both worlds, he relaxes but he still is immersed in disney magic

Some other suggestions they've gotten from friends and family over the years are a meal at a restaurant you've always wanted to try but didn't, or going on a cruise/tour, etc. My parents stay at BWV whenever possible, so there you could also rent a surrey bike, go to the atlantic dance hall, or jellyrolls (that's on my disney bucket list, hopefully next trip!). I believe some resorts also offer carriage rides around, but I'm not sure which ones. One of my mom's friends did it a few years back and loved it. When we were at Poly a few years ago, my parents highlight of the trip was taking a relaxing walk around on the beach, grabbing a dole whip, and watching the electric water pageant and Wishes across the lagoon.

DH and I were there in November to celebrate our 30th anniversary and while we enjoyed the entire trip, I think the most romantic and memorable evening was when we had reservations for Narcoosee's. We arrived early and spent some quiet time together on the dock enjoying the sites. Then we were able to time our dinner just right so that as we were between the entree and dessert, the lights dimmed and Wishes began with piped in music. We were able to see it right from our table. As the last firework ended our dessert arrived. Most memorable evening of any of our Disney trips.

This may sound wacky to some people, but I'm going to suggest it anyhow. :)

Sometimes in the past 25 years, DH and I have felt a little disconnected- you feel like you don't have anything to talk about except kids and bills, there are tons of chores & projects waiting for you at home, or you just aren't feeling the couples thing.
At those times, I try to think of "team-building" sorts of activities that are something that we wouldn't usually do. The most memorable (& helpful to us) thing that I can remember is going to a corn maze. You had to follow directions and solve clues of where to find the next station and get all the holes punched in the card they gave you when you walked in. We got lost, frustrated, & criticized each others' sense of direction- and then we remembered that it wasn't something to be taken seriously. We started having a little fun with it. We snuck around corners for kisses and had a good time. We felt a sense of accomplishment when we finished. We celebrated with a romantic meal and picked up our 6 month old daughter afterwards feeling a little happier together.

So, why not do an Agent P mission or Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game. You could even just look for hidden Mickeys. According to the commercials, we all turn into big kids at WDW anyhow so just go with that!

Not to have you spend all your time dining, but Artsist Point in the Widlerness Lodge is a nice quiet (and good) restaurant. If you go, ask for a seat by the windows.
