Is Pirates of the Caribbean @ Disneyland Closed for Repairs?

Hi everyone,
I friend said he read something in the paper ref. the ride being closed, but I didn't find any info on the web, or in our forums. Is that true? If so, how long will it be closed?
Thanks for any help

It's not on the daily schedule as being closed right now (for this week or next) but lots of other rides are - like Splash, Matterhorn, Peter Pan, etc

I confirmed with the previous post.... It's the POC at WDW that will undergo a lengthy refurbishment for problems with the new boats/ride track and some safety concerns. The new boats have been taking on water and experiencing damage while riding on the path. Another problem being addressed is a result of a person losing the tips of a couple of fingers when he had his hand outside the boat last summer.

I was at DL this morning and it was up and running no problem. Seemed a little darker than usual inside, but definitely not down.

Did you notice that specifically in the captains quarters?
Because when I was visiting last week, there was one day especially so, when the captains quarters was really dark like someone blew out all his candles.
Did you notice if the singing donkey has returned? I sure did miss him! He had always been there in the past, while visiting. During my last visit, his stall door was always completely closed! :(
Tia.......

I wasn't looking for the donkey. I don't think he was back, but at the time I was distracted by the little girl crying in front of us. The captain's quarters were definitely darker, yes. I also thought the beginning, right before the first drop was much darker. Could have just been some sort of illusion, but I've been on that ride at least 3 different weekends this month, and I don't recall it being that dark earlier in February.

The pirates of the caribbean was almost forced to shut down, for the pirates and privateers really uped their antics by setting things a blaze that they normally would ignore. They also went on overdrive when it came to chasing women that were in neighboring ships. Which made some of the brazen wenches actually quite happy. See some of the ladies had spent some time in jail for one dumb thing or another. Their jailers were as ugly and stinky as sin. Well ok, the pirates are a bit rank too, but quite a few are rougishly cute. Anyway, between that and scaring one of the singing donkees away for only God knows how long, and running off into the wilds of the seven seas, there was almost no one to be seen. Well except for Capt. Jack. He really did not feel to move. Too much rum, womanizing and overall pillaging and plundering alike. Oh well. Oh why o why can't he take a hike? Oh that's right..... two more pirates movies.... maybe Capt. Jack can go and find the donkey? Hopefully the donkey is where there is not any rum. Otherwise, the capt. might not ever return him.

BRING BACK THE DONKEY!

We want the donkey!

Donkey!
