Past Parents of Fall Program:
Possibility that my child will be there this summer and fall. As a family, we would like to be there Christmas week. We can not go any other time due to I teach. I have read about blackout dates, but can't find specifics. I am sure Christmas Day is blocked...or is it. Also, read there is a dining discount given to families given in the Christmas Perks for families. Does anyone know or recall what this is and how it works? For instance...could we get a discount at a character meal? Thanks.

DD did last fall and extended. There were never hotel discounts for my travel times that were worth it to me so I never had her check for DDP discounts but I don't think they are a given, just specials posted occasionally.

Tickets: If you are talking about Main Gate Passes. They can only get so many people in on so many days. There are also the few additional Holiday Celebration booklet passes. Blackouts apply to all passes.

MK blocked Dec 19 - Jan 4
EPCOT blocked Dec 23 - 31
DHS blocked Dec 20 - Jan 4
AK blocked Dec 23-30 and Jan 1-4

Dining:
- She always has 20% off and we can go as her guests.
- She had special times this fall she could get 40% off at limited list of restaurants.
- Variety of dining coupons were in the Holiday Celebration but blackout dates of Dec 17 - Jan 4.

We did enjoy the 40% shopping discount. She bought both of us Dooney's, some collectables etc.

Thank you so much for answering this. I was able to find past perks, but again did not give the blackout dates. So misleading saying they are giving this so family can see them at the Holidays---when those are the days blocked. In the Family Holiday Celebration booklet...
It says the following: 60% off coupons for Disney hotel stays, 50% off Disney table service dining, and 6 free soda coupons or free popcorn coupons. If you take advantage of all of these coupons, especially if you have family members visiting you during your program, you could save thousands of dollars. You will also receive another 3 Guest Passes for friends any family! You can use those with your original guest passes (letting in 4 people) or you can use it individually (letting in 1 person) and save your original guest passes for later! Which of these do you know of being true for actual week of Christmas. I get off work noon on December 19th most likely.. and will return on Jan. 4th most likely. Rooms are already taken care of for the most part. The tickets are out I know. Any other help would be great. Just trying to see if even possible to go in December. We are already there in March... I guess we will swap tickets for annual passes.

Understand. My DD's BF is visiting her in March and I was going to book Dessert Party for them and she said don't bother the MK is blocked out for their guests most of March and April - imagine all the families visiting spring break now having to buy those tickets. We went to visit mid December because we knew the Christmas block out dates on tickets and she was told expect to work the entire holiday and not have off Christmas or New Years, that would go to full timers first.

We were there December 12-21 and we used the Holiday Family Theme Park Tickets and DD had one left over. Her cousin visited a few days after Christmas and she was not able to use it, blacked out. I have one here I'll try to find it and see what it says.

The 60% off hotels is not a given and not on every resort at any time. They basically use this to fill rooms while giving perks. And my understanding is CM has to stay in room with you for that big a discount. Otherwise closer to 40%. Like I said my DD checked often for me and while she could get me things like AKL Savanna for $250, I was fine staying at POP with my AP discount. I have already stayed AKL Savanna. I had her checking all kinds of dates and found the offerings very limited. Yes the hotel alone would save thousands for some .... if you get what you want when you want.

The Dining discount 50% is really ONE Certificate plus ONE 40% off and ONE 30% off certificate in the booklet. So only three meals will these apply. Blackout dates on the actual certificate include Dec. 17, 2014 – Jan. 4, 2015. I didn't ask about her CM Dining Discount blackouts because of have TIW and so better deal for us because it included alcohol. The booklet offered no discount on the dining plan although some dates it may be offered and sounds like discount varies.

The Popcorn/Drink certificates blackout was Dec 18, 2014 – Jan 3, 2015. We used a couple but then we fell into blackout.

Was a variety of recreation and such discounts but lots have the same blackouts.

Great, so basically everything that we thought could help us make a trip just went out the Window! That is what I figured, but was hoping something would work.

DD just finished FA and yes, holiday week discounts are few. I am a teacher as well and we just decided taking a week off was worth it. We waited until our other college student completed exams and we pulled our elementary child out after emailing his principal with the reason- not a problem. We went the 7th-13tH and even then could not get room discount for an affordable room. I just used regular discount for POT. During that time we could use her dining coupons and main gate passes ( MK was blocked one day). We even got 50% off Hoop Dee Doo which was awesome. Her regular 20% off dining wasn't good at some places so you do need to check ahead of time.

I am very happy we did what we did. We went between Thanksgiving and Christmas- it was very hard to be away from her! I hope things work out for you and your family!

You all have been very helpful. Do any of you recall what blackout dates are in November and beginning of December. My oldest daughter will be a senior next year and is on a block schedule. Depending on when semester testing takes place and exemptions we might be able to pull off going December 15th, but not sure. So now we are looking at all of November and December. TO complicate matters more...my DH is self-employed and travels with a college team filming there games and producing the coaches show. December for him is better than November. I could be planning for nothing....we don't even know if he got in yet.

My daughter has just been accepted for Fall 2015 DCP. What are the chances of room discounts the first week or two of December?

The earlier he starts looking and the more he checks the better. We stayed the first week of December at the GF for 50% off. There were lots of options but you have to keep checking and start early.

Wow Hooper Fan, My DD is in the DCP right now and hasn't figured out where to find these blackout calendars yet. She ended up calling a phone number to hear the blackout dates for our April trip. Could you possible tell me where to tell her to look to see those blackout calendars? Thank you

If he decides to try and extend...how far out do they get to do this? When does the Spring DCP usually end? His sister graduates high school in '16 so want to make sure he would be able to attend the graduation. Thanks

Spring ends mid May. I think the option to extend occurs about two months before the end of the program.

She needs to go on the HUB and look under "Comp Tickets."

DD extended to spring. Her last day of work is May 5th and she has to be out of the apartment by 11 am May 8th. Not sure if it varies much among different start dates but most her friends left the same week after fall.

I do not have access to the HUB but I was able to locate these dates.

Hi! Our daughter did the Disney College Program in the fall of 2013. We spent Thanksgiving up there and she worked most of the time. We went back up for Christmas...did not want her spending Christmas alone. She was able to get off Christmas from 2pm Christmas Day for 4 days. We stayed at The Grand Floridan and we were able to enjoy her 60% cast member discount and we also got the discount on the dining plan! It was AWESOME!!!!!
