Hello! Has anyone stayed in Aotearoa building monarail side? From pics I've seen it looks like it is a pretty view of the gardens but some complain there is also a view of a storage shack/building? Is this correct?

We stayed in Aotearoa room 1209 last month. It was ground floor, middle of the longhouse, monorail side. Great view of gardens & monorail! Have you looked at touring plans room views? I found that very helpful.

hi, @mommd I am also leaning towards Aotearoa for our October trip. I really want a ground floor room. How was the noise on the side facing the monorail? was it loud? did you hear the luau? thx for any info you may have.
Also, how was the walking distance to the TTC from there?

It was a great location for us. It was actually very quiet. My husband said he heard the luau once or twice when it was really quiet in the room but it didn't disturb us. I don't recall hearing it at all.

The only issue we had with the luau is that we always seemed to be headed back to our room right as the luau got out. It was extremely crowded in the hallway by capt cooks!

The walk to the TTC was a bit farther than I anticipated. The only time we walked it was at night after a long day so maybe that made it seem longer. Before we went I heard some would walk to TTC for ferry or to ride the express monorail to MK instead of riding the resort monorail. It was definitely too long of a walk for us to do that.

With the construction going on, Aotearoa was a great location for us since it was not just right in the middle of construction. We also really liked the close proximity to Capt cooks.

We've stayed in Aotearoa monorail side in the past and enjoyed it. It's a good garden view choice especially if you are a monorail lover. We had no problems with noise from the luau at all. The rooms are pretty well sound proofed. It's a little bit further from the main pool area than we like to be though. The pp who mentioned the crowded hallway near Capt. Cook's before the luau begins is accurate and I have to believe it will only get worse with the opening of Trader Sam's soon.

thx you @mommd and @huntconn . I appreciated the opinions. Ideally, i would request a more centrally located longhouse such as rarotonga, samoa or niue, but given that east pool construction will likely be ongoing, I will play it safe with aotearoa. thx again!
