Wild Africa Trek @ AK

You do the KS, but also there are a couple of spots where the driver pulls over and you get several minutes to take pics/admire the animals for much longer than the 30 seconds the normal KS gets. Plus the meal is served overlooking the savannah so you get to see some animals then as well (they provide binoculars)
Ok, so if we do the Trek, we don't need to work KS into our schedule too :thumbsup2 Thanks!

How long does it last and how much of the excursion is on suspended bridges? I'm afraid of heights.

The entire tour is about 3 hours. The bridges part is short, but you go over them back to back. I would guess it took me less than 10 minutes to cross both, even with stopping to take pictures of the hippos and for the guide to take my picture at the end.

On the Disney website there's a warning for people with "back or neck problems." I guess this is because of the jeep ride? Is it really that bumpy?

Also, can you buy tickets for this after you're there in the park? My mom thinks she and my dad maybe shouldn't do it but if they were to change their mind and want to join us when we're there, Im wondering what the chances are they can buy tickets on the spot.

Any insight is appreciated- TIA! :)

DS & DD did it last September with the $50 off and had a great time. No weather issues, lots of animals out and active. My other DS and I actually scheduled our Safari FP+ in hopes to see them and we did, their vehicle was next to a group of giraffes and they were taking their pictures with them. They loved the meal and it included all the photopass photos of them during the whole thing. They took their own camera and Go Pro (he put on his helmet).

HopperFan- great photos & beautiful kids!!

I did it 3 years ago, and I would do it again this year if I wasn't travelling on a budget. One thing I would like to share: don't do this on the day before your departure day. I had it planned as the big finale at the end of my first trip. I had booked an afternoon tour (for the discount) and there was lightning. The only thing that can get this tour cancelled. As I was flying back the next day, there weren't many options to reschedule. I was lucky I was in front of the queue when they took our details to reschedule and could get a new spot at 8 a.m. on my departure day. Otherwise I would have gotten a refund.

It's fun, informative, nice lunch and photo cd included, it was a blast :)

Came today in an email "Save $50 on select treks this summer Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park"

May be hope for public discount towards fall.
