Bay Lake Tower MK view?

Taking my niece on a special 18th birthday trip in October. She is a Disney fanatic and hasn't been in about 5 years. Staying at home resort of BWV but am considering surprising her with 2 nights at an MK resort (assuming I can get something @7 mos which looks likely). First choice probably a 1 BR @ BLT but have read mixed reviews about the MK view. I think she'd like that if I can get it, but is it true you are basically looking at a parking lot? Given that we can go to TOTW, is it Impt to have an MK view? Full dislosure...I am kind of a view snob and always get a boardwalk view at BWV :) But I've also heard the lake view at BLT is excellent too. Appreciate any thoughts!

We have lake view right now but lucky enough to also have a MK view. The lake view is nice and you can go upstairs to watch the fireworks every night if you want. I can't see spending the extra points on the MK view IMO.

BLT's MK view does look over a parking lot to see MK. We have had this view several times and the parking lot has never bothered us, especially considering that most of the time we are at the parks during the day and the parking lot doesn't look as "stark" at night. Here is a picture of the view from a balcony in June 2010 on our arrival day. For us, the view is totally worth being able to watch Wishes from our balcony.

OK - that's helpful. For the person who has both lake and MK view do you know what series of room numbers might have that possibility? Not too concerned about the cost difference. Guess if I could see the lake view I could decide but haven't been able to find that image anywhere.

If your niece is a Disney fanatic, you should try to get MK view. You may notice the parking lot but she won't. She will enjoy watching the castle, the monorail ride by, the train going around the park and perhaps even the flash of pictures going off on splash. We love MK view.

That's what I was thinking. She has become obsessed with Disney over the past year, has had her own blog on the movie Frozen since before it was released (with over 1000 followers), plans to write about Disney for her college essays and hopes to do the college program. So I'll just get over my parking lot issue for her enjoyment! Thanks for the thoughts :)

Have had this any times to me I only see parking lot if I want Can't get my eyes off castle!!

Request a high fl. That will give u a great view. Especially at night. Best view in wdw !!

While BLT has somewhat of an MK view and it's close and great if you want to walk to the MK, IMO it looks and feels like you are staying in a high-rise condo somewhere. It doesn't feel like Disney at all.

VGF on the other hand feels like Disney, looks like Disney has fireworks views from the resort, has boat and monorail access to the MK and BLT and you can still go to TOTWL for a fireworks view.

I agree - stayed at VGF last year and absolutely love the decor. She may not care so much, but I am considering both. BLT has the advantage of 2 full baths which I like for our party of 4, and that could be a major factor :). Oh, and thanks for the helpful link!

We are in 7602. 6th floor so it has been a good view for fireworks at night but not so good if you want to see the water pageant. I believe that corner is all 02 numbers. 7502, 5th floor. 7702, 7th floor and then I think the 8th floor starts with the 8000 numbers.

If you want MK view you will want to book that. There are some limited lake views that will have views of MK if you look to the side. However most lake views do not have a view of MK.

Sorry, I misinformed you. it's the 10th floor that starts the 8000 numbers.

People complain about being on the inner "c" of lake view, looking into other rooms from the balcony. I've had the same 12th floor studio twice TPV...view to die for. :)

FWIW, Bay Lake Tower and the Contemporary ARE Disney to us. No resort feels more Disney to us. Its classic. Its awesome. GF has zero appeal or Disney feel to us.
