March 15, 2015 MAGIC Cruise!! :)

That wild side excursion looks like a lot of fun. The last time we were at Castaway Cay, we had a great time but I think DD got a little bored later in the day. I'll have to show this to her. I think she'd really enjoy it.

DW is watching Titanic tonight. Hopefully the Captain will steer clear of any rogue icebergs floating around the Western Caribbean! :sail:

And I'm sorry, but that door was big enough for the both of them to survive. Rose was being a tad selfish! :duck: :joker:

It would work sort of like a late, latecomers list. You can add your name and stateroom number, and others might join in too. The only issue for you would be that you need to check regularly to be sure that you have gifts for everyone who signs up late -- and again, I'd suggest setting a deadline. Maybe one week before the cruise?

And you might also get pixie-dusted ... i.e., some of the people in the other groups might swing by to leave a little magic behind for you!
We are always willing to join an FE if you have someone drop off :) Have to do some FE repair today...the poor thing is looking a little ragged :) and we have two cabins...

Ha! This morning I was just telling my DH, I was thinking about booking the Disney Frozen cruise in Norway. Only hesitation is that I don't want to end up like the titanic hitting an iceburg...!

Will you be hanging it up? If you're interested, let me know your stateroom number(s) and whether there are little ones, and I will for sure be swinging by with some pixie dust!

I was just checking availability of this cruise and I'm amazed at how many stateroom categories are still available. Also struck by how our price category has barely budged since opening day. This is fascinating to me, since on our previous cruises the prices for our stateroom categories have usually crept higher very soon after we booked.

I'm assuming that a key factor is that for this season Disney put the Magic and the Fantasy on 'competing' runs -- hence the change for next year with the Magic doing shorter trips.

Wonder if we're in for a less-than-full ship as a result? I see there are still some good *GT rates available, and there's still space on the Fantasy.

We have late dining, and since it's less popular I will be interested to see if there are any/many empty tables!

Odd, since it is spring break. At least it is spring break for us. And with a temperature of -1 and a wind chill of -11 this morning, I really need the break.

Here's hoping that the ship isn't too crowded!

We have had to cancel our cruise! :( We booked over a year ago and have been looking forward to it but we have had a major accident in the family. I hope everyone has an amazing time! Please make sure we are removed from any FE groups also.

Dreamcatchers I have been praying for your family and I'm so sorry for everything! !!!!

Papertraveller interesting there is that much availability. I'm wondering if with an early Easter more places have a later spring break? This week is our break too. I wouldn't mind a less crowded ship. ;)

Two weeks from right now we will be almost to Chicago for our flight! Yippee! All the big things we had before (dance competition, orchestra recitals, music programs ) are over so I have a feeling the time is going to drag!!!

I don't know about your areas, but in Dallas every other school district has their spring break the week before; March 9 through 13. Our district voted to have our break the week after everyone else, which is super nice. Last year, we had the same situation and the Fantasy wasn't totally full. The early dining rotation had a few empty tables & I'm sure the late seating did as well. My fingers are crossed that the Magic isn't completely booked.

There's still 7 - 1 bedroom cabins available! If we didn't have some major expenses coming up this year (we're getting a pool put in), I'd be rushing to port to try and upgrade!

Do they offer any good discounts for upgrades at port, do you know? In other words, do you still end up paying less than if you'd booked that category previously?

Great! We are assigned to cabin 7030. My mother in law, myself and my 2 sons aged 8 and 10 will be cruising this time. We are super excited and looking forward to doing FE for the first time. Thanks so much for the info.

Yes papertraveller, they typically do offer discounts. We've never sailed on a not-full ship! We are regretting getting an inside cabin this time. I didn't factor in our late port-arrival times, so we now I reason would have lots of time to enjoy a verandah! We will get to port early and see what we can get! :woohoo:

We just upgraded from an inside cabin to an oceanview cabin and the cost was so much smaller than it would have been to book the oceanview from the beginning. Does this mean if we wanted to upgrade to a verandah at port it would be even cheaper than the quote I got last week from our travel agent?

I believe so, yes!

There has been a change to the Latecomers list as one family has opted out.

I have created a Pixie Dust list and put you on it. However, I would suggest that the families on the Latecomers List consider including you in their plans now. I know we will!

So here is what I found:
Inside and Deluxe Ocean View staterooms are GTY only -- but it does not say they're sold out.
For verandahs, here's the list with the number of staterooms first, and the category second:
8 - 7A
1 - 6A
5 - 5C
8 - 5B
1 - 4E
2 - 4A

We will ask about an upgrade when we get to the port, but I rather doubt it'll fit the budget, and I am not sure DD will let us move, LOL!

But if you DO get an upgrade and you're in a FE group, please be sure to phone the staterooms of all the other members, or drop off a note in their FE, to advise them of your change. If you let me know, I will also post the change on our stateroom door.

That seems like a lot of staterooms still available, 25, so close to sailing, especially on a smaller ship like the Magic. It'll be interesting to see if you get the feeling that the ship is less than sold out. No matter what, we'll be having a great time in less than two weeks!
